In a world where practically every newscast brings some sort of sorrow, fear or just plain sadness there is little time left for any laughter or some human- interest story to bring a smile to the faces of viewers. Murders, mysteries, memoirs or even some children’s books present serious topics and although interesting and compelling to read never allow you to crack a smile or laugh. The Navy Girl Book is a compilation of author Scott Erickson’s imagination, sense of humor and ingenuity. So, why not start by spotlighting some of the jokes to make the reader of this review smile after a long day at a job you might hate or one that might tire you out. On page 2 we have “Tomorrow is Bring Your Child to Work Day! Maybe your children will understand your stress and understand why some parents turn to the bottle after a hard days work. Page 5 : Businesses that Failed For Some Weird Reason. Bet you cannot guess which ones: Well: Dentistry Hut is first, how about Ten-Second Tan or maybe Surgery Shack to name a few. Want to learn more and where not to go read page 5. This one is hilarious: “There is no cosmetic for beauty like Happiness by Revlon, now available in department stores everywhere. Jokes about life and Advice for Teens Girls and Boys plus Chance Meetings this book has something to make the saddest person on the gloomiest day smile. How about Chance Meetings the first one is called Silver Porsche Carrera and the next one is called Brad’s Party and then New Mom. Read pages 14-15 to find out what’s so funny. There are messages to Food Handlers and poor Trudy Clark who really hates teaching and why you hear her responses to the questions well you might understand why she cries herself to sleep and why she can’t wait for the bell to ring at the end of the day. Today’s Headlines followed by It’s Not Always Easy Being The Son of God page 24 and then what happens when a child dares to ask a question in school: One Day In Third Grade. But, the funniest jokes are the Quotes by Artists about Art on pages 26-27. Okay I’ll give you one: “We see a painting as a static thing when truly it is a record of a journey that stopped when the painter ran out of paint.” Paul Gardner. There are more but why ruin it for you when you can read them yourself and laugh. From sarcasm, to satire to just plain funny this book has something for everyone. Did you know: That most police officers will “fetch” a donut, as long as you don’t throw it too far.” How about some baffling questions on page 53 and Invest Your Future in Somebody You Trust: Learn about how Thomas Barrett, Senior Vice President Of Wells Fargo Financial Advisors can help you invest. Read about his face of bland normality. Learn that he does not dance and Call Today as the Shell of his former personality will be happy to help you! Book Review: the Magic Serpent; Not quite like mine but nonetheless unique and the writer does not give too much away and will even share the subplot about a King’s quest. Money Save jokes that focus on Important Legal Notice, Lost: Wedding Ring or even Wanted: Items: Podunk County: Money provides these great ads for you. So, author Scott Erickson: Keep writing these funny anecdotes and stories and maybe just maybe someone will publish some of these in a newspaper to help bring smiles to our long and hard days.
