Ellie Makes A Friend

Ellie Makes A Friend: Authors: Marci Fair and Elle Fair

Making new friends is not always easy for children or adults. Ellie Moved to a new neighborhood and found herself feeling very much alone. Hoping to meet someone real soon she explored her new neighborhood hoping that she would find a friend. First she needed to do something to make her smile and cheer herself up: How about frozen yogurt! Sounds great to me! But, sometimes even the coolest and greatest treat, as Ellie, the Elephant realizes, is not as delicious when eating it all alone. So, even the chocolate chips did not taste great. Ellie was determined to find a friend and decided to go outside and swing alone. Watch her swing and look at the great pictures that helps make the story and Ellie’s emotions come alive to young children and even adults.

All children love to play games and Ellie is not different. She plays table games, builds with her block and had trouble figuring out what to do and play all by herself. As you look at the pictures the expressions on her face really help tell the story as she was hungry and wanted to eat lunch and talk with a friend while she ate but no one was there. Playing outside after lunch. Swimming in the pool and wishing that someone else would be there to make it more fun was Ellie’s hope. Children love company and some enjoy their own company and playing alone while others like Ellie want friends. Going to my favorite place next to read and enjoy books about Elephants, animals and things big and small was exciting but Ellie was smart and decided she might need some help finding a friend. Reading a gook on Making Friends just might be the answer. Learning that she just might need to go out and find friends on her own was her goal and being careful where she went was important. Ellie went to the playground and you will not believe who was there. Did Ellie meet a friend? Will she and the friend get along? What fun things will they do together and will they go on adventures to learn and explore new things? If you want to meet Ellie’s friend then you have to read this book yourself and find out who she might have met, what they did together and what yummy treat they shared. The pictures are all photographs taken by both authors. Ten-year-old Elle Fair and her mother created Ellie the Elephant together and their adventures. So, what can two friends do together? What are some things you love to do with your friends? Read this colorfully photographed book. Meet Ellie and share your favorite stuffed animal friends too by taking pictures, uploading and sharing it on their facebook page or tweeting them. Friendships are precious and should be cherished and the book was written to let other young readers know just how special and dear friends are. Author Elle Fair shares her thoughts about friendship on the back cover and why she loves helping other children.

Proceeds from this book goes to helping communities and families in need.
