Witches Protection Program: Michael Phillip Cash
Witches exist and they are always around you just might not see them. Now, don’t think I am just making it up because we all know that there are people who practice witchcraft and some are good and others well just wait and see as a 232 year old secret government organization called the Witches Protection Program goes into action to unravel and unmask what a billion dollar Cosmetic mogul is trying to do in order to gain world domination. Wes Rockville are star who was disgraced and given this one fabulous last chance by his father to salvage what is left of his law enforcement agent’s career to help protect the heiress to the throne of this company from what her aunt Bernadette Pendragon has in store for the world. A facial cream and other products that Morgan her young niece and heiress feels will hurt women, smells strange and is not what anyone should be using on their faces or anywhere else. So, when Wes is faced having to be a part of this organization you hear his reluctance, his disbelief and his pairing with Alastair Verne will bring readers some moments of laughter, bewilderment and hopefully the ability to realize that like I said witches exist by good and bad and that he needs to have faith in himself. So, are you a Davina or good witch or are you a Willa a bad one and when a good witch stops being a belief and becomes a force of nature when that’s when all the trouble starts.
The antics begin when Morgan gets herself in trouble with her Aunt who insists that she sign over her voting rights. But, Morgan is smart and what she does will enrage her aunt if and when she finds out what did with the letter she signed. But, right behind her is Scarlett who does her aunt’s bidding and will do anything to undercut and undermine Morgan and that’s where the fun starts as Alastair and Wes track Morgan down just when Wu working for her aunt wants to reel her in and bring her to face her aunt. Trying to turn her best friend Gabby in a bug factory and then cover Morgan with goop, the scene is hilarious and the outcome not what you would expect. But, added in let’s not forget Fat Junie and her crazy potions and fixes for poor Wes and his foot. So, how do you protect good witches from bad ones when they don’t want your help? What happens when Morgan finally realizes and admits what her aunt is doing with her Glow Face Cream? Watch out the next time you go to a cosmetic counter and buy a face cream and use it you never know what might happen. Aunt Bea wants to control every woman and her actions so the cream will have the family DNA and she will be able to control the thoughts, actions and desires of every woman who uses the cream. Imagine that and you or the woman would never know it!
But, there is much more to this book as the author reveals more about Wes, reading disability, feeling left out and needing to find some type of acceptance within his father’s world and his own. Learning and realizing that witches do exist he and Alastair take on Scarlett whose prime goal is to eliminate Morgan and win her aunt’s primary favor. Added in the scenes that involve the witches on the bridge, the cables turning into snakes and what happens to Vincentza is priceless as they are action packed, fast paced and keeps the story moving so that readers will not want to put the book down until they find out just what happens next. As Wes is determined to prove to his father that he can stop the Glow shipments and foil what Bernadette has set in motion, others work to not only stop him but someone has captured Morgan and the startling ending has yet to be revealed. The history of witches and the Salem witch trials are shared and the research is quite extensive and the antics pulled on both sides priceless as the true power of the Davina’s try to outfox those acting like Willas. Burning stakes, hanging on them, turning into frogs, dealing with healing herbs and wild cures that Junie has created author Michael Phillip Cash has set the bar really high with this fantasy novel. Seeing witches flying in the sky but was that real?
What is really great are the weapons that the author created in order for Wes and Alastair to take on the enemies and you won’t believe the final ending. When Alastair confronts Bernadette just whose powers will win out? What about the Glow cream order has it been released? What about Morgan who has been kidnapped by Scarlett? Just which witch will win out and will Wes ever prove to his father that he can cut it? The Witches Protection Organization can they stop what one woman wants: Placing men under her thumb and keeping them in internment camps. Will Bernadette get her wish and rule the thoughts of all women?
Truths, betrayals, lies and deceits are finally revealed when Alastair confronts Bernadette and Morgan learns a harsh reality about her past. What really happened to her mother? Why is Bernadette so bent on destroying the male population? Just whose side is Scarlett on? Greed, power, acceptance and control are just some of the issues that are brought to light in this novel. Get out your own Translifter, find a revolver that is loaded, join the Witches Protection Organization and help protect the good witches that might be in danger as Wes, Alastair, Morgan and Junie face off with some dangerous opposition. Whose flying skills will save them? Who will wind up in the burlap bag and taken away with duck tape covering their faces and mouths? Will Wes get his old job back? Will he stay with the protection program? If you want to know how it all began you will have to read the ending first to learn why for some it’s the ending and for others the beginning. What’s next for Wes and Alastair? Will Morgan believe that Wes just wants to help her? An ending chocked filled with surprises and you won’t expect. Only author Michael Phillip Cash knows and he might have to cast a spell on anyone who tries to give away any of the secrets within the pages of this book. Cannot wait to read the next one. But, remember: Witches honor: Never tell what you have learned about Davinas and Willas. Witches really do exist: If you don’t believe me read this novel and learn more.
