Destiny (Forever & Always Book 1)
Within the life of a teenage girl or even young teenage boy their first encounter with dating and meeting someone can be awkward and difficult. As the story opens we meet Cindy in the 1970’s meeting Danny at age 14 and becoming enamored with him and only wanting to spend her time in his company. Sometimes you think you just know from the start when meeting someone that they are what you need and you instantly think you are in love. But, life does not work that way and there are many obstacles that will stop you and force you whether a teen or young adult to have to revaluate your thinking and your choices. Could this be love at first sight? But, teens often fall prey to their own weaknesses and even though they think they are in love nothing goes smoothly and from being boyfriend and girlfriend they drift apart.
Destiny can be defined as an event or something that happens to you as a person or someone else. It can also be defined as the predetermined or inevitable course of an event or events. Danny and Cindy at this time seem destined to have some type of future together but as we all know sometimes things do not always go according to a predetermined plan and our destinies can take different turns and the fork in the road that intersected their lives could literally rip them apart.
Some relationships are like seesaws they have both their ups and downs but after spending one serious intimate moment with Danny things seems to change and he just wanted to become friends. Cindy became emotional and Danny seemed to have moved on to a girl named Kate and Cindy to Kyle. Not really putting her heart into anything new she attempted to like this other boy but was she doing what she thought Danny was doing just using him to have someone in her life. First loves are exciting but often heartbreaking when they do not work out. But, being young and naïve plus immature both Danny and Cindy did not know how to handle their intense feelings and often drifted apart. When Danny gets tossed out of school instead of facing his parents he leaves and runs away to a safe haven with family members. Cindy is put in the position of having to tell them where he went. Spending every minute with someone can be stifling and that’s what happens to him or her. Danny wants to keep his friends and they have drifted apart because of Cindy.
Cindy and Danny were both immature in many respects and he didn’t seem to really understand her true feelings at times and the hurt and pain she endured was heartbreaking. Confiding in friends is great but talking to a mother is much better. Cindy did not seem to understand her relationship with Danny and the one with Kyle was more to have a void in her life filled, as was the one with George. But, the hardest thing she had to endure was Danny’s marriage to Wanda and the reason you the reader will have to learn for yourself.
There are many mysteries within this story and many lies and betrayals as Cindy has to come full circle with her feelings, learn to handle her emotions and realize that sometimes what you think is destiny in a relationship might be a long bus stop before you reach your real destination in life.
Her relationship with both Kyle and another named Mike went well for a short time but when both Kyle and Mike decided that they wanted to make their relationship with Cindy more permanent although she was happy with that this too was only short lived. But, sometimes even sad times can become positive as Cindy and her mother and father developed a closer relationship and she was able to enjoy life without a boyfriend. With the help of her cousin and best friend Debbie she moved on, went out, had fun and realized that sometimes your destiny needs time before it leads in your direction. New Years Eve with Kyle, phone calls from Danny, then he moves away in order to deal with his marriage and his new family. But, Cindy has her ups and downs, even gets drunk for the first time and then she realizes that life can be good just by enjoying it.
Mysteries are just part of life and the ending will surprise you as she and her parents are home and the doorbell rings and the rest you are on your own to guess, figure out and speculate what will happen next or just wait until the author pens the next chapters in her life. With friends like Liz, Debbie and Deborah and parents that were supportive Cindy just might weather more than the dating love storms that many teens and young adults endure. A story that will make you cry, laugh, smile and understand that love is hard, teens need to understand that things do not always work out or what they seem and parents of young girls and young teenage boys need to be there when they see the tears help them through it all. Will Cindy find true love? Will she reconcile her feelings for Danny and finally move ahead? Will she always love him Forever and Always? Find out what happens next when she completes the next book.
