IGNITED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT: Ivy Adjivon
Sometimes life can take you on a different path that you would never have traveled. Fate plays a part in things that happen or some think that some type of divine intervention can alter events or help you deal with something tragic or difficult. What would you do if you were riding in your car and all of a sudden you thought or knew you were going to die? How would you handle it? Would you say a prayer? Would you pray that something or someone would save you? Author Ivy Adjivon shares her experience with readers as she enters her car, travels on a highway walled on both sides by cornfields. Riding she was dead center “ in the middle of the intersection.” She saw a white car coming straight at her! The details she describes are quite remarkable as she relates that the inside or interior of the car was jet black. But, she could not see the occupant or occupants. The car was going well over the speed limit and in one split second IMPACT! She could not break or accelerate. Fear: her life flashed before her and then she flashes back to the events that happened before this experience.
The author is a clinical review consultant or healthcare professional working in different states and towns. Traveling is the norm for her. Within the pages of this book the author relates to her clients, her family and the Holy Spirit. Within the book we learn just how God helped her through the ordeal and how he communicates with her today. Some believe in near death experiences whiles do not. Some relate to scientific breakthroughs while others become cautious and question the findings. The author discusses her relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit within this book as we go back to the event as it happened, understand what she experienced and become enveloped with her and her wonderful relationship with the powerful God. As she describes on page 8 after the crash she felt when at home: “ the exceptional enfolding then proceeded to get out of bed, But each attempt I made to get up, the Holy Spirit tightened the loving hold.”
Creating or finding her fellowship with the Lord is the primary focus of this book. She describes the experience as “the sensation you get when you extend your hand our of a fast moving car with your palm open to feel the blowing wind.” There is no sound. The wind is silent and no sound around that she heard except her own breathing. The second phase she describes is that she requested of the Lord to tell her about her agenda or plan for the day as she realized that there was something special about that day. Ivy embraces the Lord and feels special about her encounter with him. Speaking at time directly to the reader she states that anytime the Lord or God’s presence is there make sure you focus on nothing else. She elaborates as to why on page ten. Chapter three she focuses on getting up early in the morning as the Holy Spirit releases her for the day. She relates being in Rockdale to work there and how the Holy Spirit guided and helped her throughout the day. She quotes many parts of the Bible to help readers understand her strong feelings and invites those reading the book to join in and become partners with the Holy Spirit.
Throughout Chapter Three the author describes how the Holy Spirit helped her all day and what happens when she speaks to her husband before the accident and the events as they unfolded within pages 13- 16 including when realized that she had an outer body experience. Defined on Wikipedia as: “An out-of-body experience (OBE or sometimes OOBE) is an experience that typically involves a sensation of floating outside one’s body and, in some cases, perceiving one’s physical body from a place outside one’s body (autoscopy). Stating that the Holy Spirit appeared as a might wind and responded to her hopelessness and helpless situation. No one else could help.
Chapter Four explains her different conversations with the Holy Spirit, which I will let you the reader read for yourself. Understanding that he was sent to help guide her through her day, provide some type of comfort for her and teach and guide her to understand all truths. He defines himself as the Comforter. The author continues by defining Comforter as someone who teaches hope, purpose and helps you find solutions. He is also a Teacher and Guide. The author continues to explain each one in detail and completes her description with stating that God is a Spirit.
Her description is quite compelling and in Chapter Five she explains how she would like everyone to be introduced to the Holy Spirit and she sites some scriptures to explain why. She also explains that in “ partnership one does not function independently, and unilateral decisions are generally not acceptable.” She continues by explaining that he is the only one that has the authority to make these decisions. “ Be Silent be silent, believe!” Powerful statement. Each person that reads this book will get something different from it and their understanding of the Holy Spirit and how they will connect will be their own. The final paragraph is written to you the reader hoping that you too will want to develop a fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Everyone experiences life in his or her own way. Each person embraces God in their own way too. The author hopes that after reading this book and understanding what she went through and learned that you the reader will develop your own special connect and be ignited by the Holy Spirit.
