As the police detectives work from their own and another tries to learn more about Alex, his past if revealed in files that are right in front of him and the end result is powerful as Alex faces some harsh realities about his father, his mother’s death and his family history. Helping his cousin find the real killer, he vows to work for the sake of the victim and will not compromise his ethics no matter what. This is Alex at this strongest, most determined yet vulnerable.
Jannie Cross is a track star and the author includes her training and the fact that she is quite good and is asked to join a team a college team to train. Although she is there just to keep in shape the impression she makes upon the coaches is great what about the other girls. But, things spiral out of control as someone plants a package of white powder in Jannie’s backpack and the police are now called in to check on the contents and what it might be. Alex enlists the help of Detective Burr who seems to be trustworthy but never go against your gut feelings.
As Alex researches and learns more about his father, his apparent suicide and what really happened to him, Nana Mama waits for him to return and learning the truth might be devastating. Added in Bree searches in other places to learn more about Martin Phiilips and Finn Davis Alex assists two other detectives in the murder of several socialites. Just who is Coco and why is he/she killing these rich women? What about his mother is speaking out to him?
When Alex returns and learns the truth going to watch Jannie work out someone might have tampered with his car and someone wants him shut down but who and why? Added in we learn more about Martin Bell, the girl who might have been responsible for sending Alex’s cousin to jail and their link. Lies, deceits, corruption, betrayals and much more are just some of the issues that are brought to light in this novel as Alex Cross is battling for his cousin’s life but will he succeed before someone gets to him first? But, someone is orchestrating this from another angle and one little five year old seems bent on making her grandfather happy yet who is this person that is behind the murders or the women and wants Alex out of the way? Why was the young boy killed and who really killed him and why? Alex has to look deep, long and hard into his past to confront some harsh truths in the present. What he learns will change his perspective and life forever. What about his daughter will she decide to become an Olympic Star and take the training offered or wait until she is older? There are many unanswered questions within this complex plot and novel.

Naomi Cross presents a defense that will stun readers as both Alex and Bree uncover the truth behind the drug ring and the cartel. Cross Justice delivered not only by Alex, Bree and Naomi and someone who will surprise you, but by a family that no one wants to cross.
Cross Justice as only a cross can deliver but which one and who? When Bree goes after Martin and Finn and Alex gets too close and the trial just might prove deadly will anyone stop what someone is about to do? Will his cousin go free? Just who is the one person that comes in at the end and takes justice into his own hands? Who killed the women and why? Can he clear Jannie of the drug charge and will he get it done before its too late? Cross Justice: Alex Cross at his best and James Patterson once again setting the bar really high!
