Synoposis: Debai Betrayal: Jeremy Burns
During a desperate attempt to rally support for a controversial Middle Eastern peace summit, U.S. Ambassador Christine Needham is kidnapped on an unauthorized visit to Dubai. Forced to walk a thin line between diplomacy and effectiveness, President James Talquin assembles a new covert team, helmed by black ops veteran Wayne Wilkins, to rescue the ambassador before she is executed by terrorists. But the ambassador is in possession of a dangerous secret, one that, if not recovered in time, could lead to the most devastating terror attack in history.
Now Wayne and his team are on a collision course with unseen forces that seem to be manipulating world powers toward a devastating conclusion. With a nuclear apocalypse just hours away, the operatives must confront a new kind of jihad, one that breaks all the rules of warfare and terrorism.
But all of the players may not be what they seem, and with no one left to trust, the newly founded team must lean on each other to navigate the glittering heights and hidden depths of one of the world’s most fascinating cities and infiltrate a centuries-old shadow war raging within Islam itself. As the twists and betrayals mount, it soon becomes clear that unless Wayne and his men can recover the ambassador and the secret she holds in time, the terrorists’ enigmatic paymaster may get exactly what he wants: an all-consuming world war from which America and her allies would never recover.

The Dubai Betrayal
Ripped right out of the headlines this novel reminds readers that no one is truly safe in the world as the author brings to light what happens when the U.S. Middle East Ambassador decides to forge ahead on her own, take a side trip to Dubai to try and foster peace in the Middle East, her own way, and winds up the victim of a terrorist group whose agenda would destroy many countries. U.S. Ambassador Christine Needham is at the center of this controversy as her unauthorized visit to Dubai puts many others at risk as she tries to get support for a controversial Middle East summit. Before she even alights from the plane she realizes her mistake when she does not see the proper vehicles to transport her and her security team. Faced with the terrorists and knowing that she is in dire trouble she decides on the spot to give herself up but not before two men in her team fall prey to these horrific people. With tight security she thought in place just how did they know she was coming as President James Talguin created a covert team just to find her before she is executed by the terrorists whose goal it is to destroy the U.S., Israel and anyone that stands in their way as Iran becomes equipped with Nuclear power and you hear the voices of the terrorists as they plan their final strategies hoping to take revenge and stop any peace talks between Israel and Palestine. Wayne Wilkins has been given the job of trying to rescue the Ambassador along with a team of international members that often have even them questioning their loyalties including the one person in charge of the technical side. A covert team, clandestine team that hopes to get to the ambassador who was has in her possession a dangerous secret, that if discovered would destroy many nations and be the worst terrorist attack since 9/11. Wayne and his team seem to be bumping into many obstacles the moment they land with their fake passports and ID’s in Dubai. Chased by the police, stopped, threatened and warned they find their way to where the attack initiated hoping for some type of clues before it’s too late.
Christine Needham is smart but when confronted by these dangerous men what she has to endure would frighten anyone yet she manages to somehow stand her ground. Placed in a filthy cell with little to eat it’s amazing that her sanity remained in place. If Wayne and his men cannot stop what these people have started as you hear the voices of both Wayne and the man running the operation on the other side, you will learn the new definition of Jihad, one that defines itself by its won rules of warfare and terrorism. As you hear the voices of those on both sides you wonder just who can be trusted and who is part of the ultimate Dubai Betrayal. The history of the country and the descriptions of the places within Dubai make the city come alive and the people part of your life as well as Wayne and his men. A police force corrupt and many who fail in their attempts to stop Wayne yet the man at the top seems to feel he and his group of recruits will succeed even if they lose their lives for the cause. Islam has difficult meanings to many of these characters as the terrorists define it in their own way and their allegiance to Allah while the men on Wayne’s team define it in a more religious sense. But, can they find the ambassador in time knowing that somehow someone in their own team or network might be betraying them?
Walid is the man in charge of the terrorist attack and what he describes is bone chilling as he explains the history behind why he has so much hate for the United States, Israel and parts of the Middle East and why he wants revenge for what he claims was done to his family. He has a partner that he’s joined forces with and together they plan to take down Israel and the U.S. Added in the author shares their history, their ideologies and the reasons why they are relentless learning this from Needham herself who realizes that there is a master plan and she will pay the ultimate price at the end if she does not figure out a way to escape. Wondering why no one is coming for her she has yet to realize the magnitude of what the President has created and the men that have already lost their lives because she decided to overturn the plans in place and make this side trip.
There are many voices of different terrorists heard and one that is taken captive by Wayne and his partner Suarez. With a third in their team they manage to take on Karim hoping that by inflicting some pain he might divulge where the Ambassador is being held. But, Christine tries several times to escape and loses footing each time but won’t give up. From the President of Iran to the Ayatollah who is the real force author Jeremy Burns takes readers deep inside the minds of many factions of different terrorist organizations working towards one thing: the destruction of Israel and even a nuclear blast if necessary. Not caring if lives are lost as long as they succeed at any cost. Ripped right out of any newspaper or headlines from around the world this book is quite compelling, thought provoking and makes readers understand why what Christine was trying to do was so important. There are many players and each time he contacts one of his own you begin to wonder what side this person is on as some Intel gets by her, things turn ugly and someone on the inside is working on the other side and Wilkins needs to find out who and why before it’s too late.
With Israel at stake and the peace summit hoping to happen, Christine Needham learns just where the leak came from and who betrayed her and why. Things spiral out of control for the terrorists and for Wayne and his team as they face bombs, gunshots, knives and a network so deadly headed by corrupt police officials, the President of Iran and many more. Just who orchestrated the plot you won’t believe and the end result will either turn the world into a huge ball of radiation from nuclear blasts or will Wayne and his team finally manage to stop what was started? If the ambassador is not rescued and the memory card not recovered the result will be more than catastrophic. With the terrorists wanting to set off a bomb aimed at Israel and the thought that Iran is going after nuclear power the end result is that it was all a plot to manipulate everyone into going against Iran. The end result is more than tragic as another person betrays his country even more than the first and someone’s life is sacrificed. Many lives are lost, the terrorists think they have one and one U.S. Ambassador won’t give up until she finishes the job she set out to do but will Wayne, Suarez and Nasef pull it all together in time with the help of Zorro too? Using their Intel, their technological skills and the hope that someone can break the code that is lock on auto pilot to stop the drone from setting off a bomb, The Dubai Betrayal reminds us that we cannot become complacent, our enemies are many and some who claim to be our friends just might be behind a plot that no one will recover from. The author includes the history behind many of the actions that take place within Dubai, the city is described, the places that they enter and the United Arab Emirates is depicted true to life as our the actions of the terrorists. When one fails another is commanded to complete the mission as Walid falls short of his job and Omar takes over but will he succeed or will Wayne and his men win? The ending will surprise you and the final outcome might be decided but will it ever really be over. Israel, Palestine, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the nations of the Middle East: what will it take to unite everyone including the United States?
