Do you have the nerve or guts to tell it how it really is? The first section focuses on Marriage and what better place to begin as we meet Jenny and William. Jenny and William are about to spend their wedding night together and rather than put him down she politically correct tells him he was amazing when in reality well 15 seconds I guess beats nothing! Grandma’s marital advice is priceless as her granddaughter listens to her as she recounts her dating and what constitutes a happy marriage. Now being prim and proper as we know all grandmothers are she explains that a happy couple has to find their “own formula for success.” But, in reality she states be a chef in the kitchen, a laundress to the laundry, a maid in the living room and if you want to know about the bedroom granny said the read page 7 to learn for yourself and start practicing on your own. 50th Anniversary is priceless as Grandma and Grandpa are about to celebrate with their entire family. Grandma being politically correct tells how she met Grandpa and why he was a romantic guy and great catch and then she hits us with the harsh truth. Sometimes you have just so many to pick from and by the process of elimination you settle for what is left. Grandpa tells it this way: She was sweet, gave her flowers and pursued her and still wonders why she remained with him for 50 years. If you want to find out the blunt truth read page 16 and score one for Grandpa. Dating is the next section and it begins with Meeting Daughter’s Boyfriend and of course Daddy’s have their own viewpoint even though this one claims it is a pleasure to meet him but in reality he knows where this guy really wants to go and be. Advice is the next section and there is so much of it goes around as we meet Warren who is single and resorted to online dating. After checking out the profiles he asks his friend Charles why he lacks responses. Being nice he claim they are all reviewing your profiles when in reality and let’s be straight no one is interested.

Strategies is the next section and the first is Firebug? Herman is adventurous but would he go as far as to torch his own business? Did he do it? Was he really home? Wait until you hear the blatant truth. Next I loved the Conversationalist, which introduces us to Ed everyone would love and Ed. He listens; he is insightful and great at giving advice. Socializing is the next section and within this one there is Singing Up A Storm which really hits home since I cannot carry a tune but I can hear the song and the tunes in my head. I have perfect pitch as long as I don’t sing. So, it’s Karaoke night at the Regency Lounge and Charlie is jamming and he cannot wait for everyone to sing his praises. In his own mind they loved it or did they? You see let’s be honest poor Charlie sounds like chalk scratching on a chalkboard or well listen to him sing and decide for yourself. Being beyond politically correct is definitely called for in this case. Grandkids’ Pictures is something that rings true to so many people as you are sitting in an airport terminal waiting for your flight when someone pulls out pictures and wants you to love them. Everyone or most everyone has had some type of surgery within their lifetime. But, what happens when Marilyn goes to Dr. McKenzie for some minor knee procedure. He tells her what to expect and her recovery time. But, it’s what it doesn’t tell her that would make you think twice before letting him operate on you. Just like any surgery it could…… I don’t want to scare you by spilling the truth. You have to read it for yourself on page 82. Would you date someone that is four inches shorter than you? Find out why Julie did? When you read Too Tall. Finally in the last section Helping Auntie will ring true to many and of course A Philosophical Exam which will explain why so many go to college and the real and honest reason you just never heard before. I think there are many young people that just might agree as the author shares this beyond politically correct response on page 99. At the end the author asks his readers to ponder this question: Being Brutally Honest I or are you Brutally Honest and fit into II or are you Being Brutally Honest III and if so : Where do you fit and as the author brilliantly states since you paid a ton for the book you might want to realize that this book is one of the best you have read in a long time. You realize the truth sometimes hurts but is necessary and you should definitely buy some extra copies to give out for Christmas and holidays or just because you want to recommend this book to others.
