Taylor learns the harsh truth behind her own child’s parentage, the deceitful lies Malcolm told her and she begins to wonder if he really cared for her at all. We learn about Dakota and why Jack chose her over Taylor but the author slowly, methodically and carefully lets us know the true reasons why as both Taylor and Malcolm hear this from someone they thought they could trust and you won’t believe whom. The key to getting away safely and bringing out to the public what happened is held on a simple flash drive that Jeremy has and was able with Taylor’s help to decrypt. But, finding just the person to give it to and explaining to that person how he/she can help them bring those involved in government, the police departments and law enforcement to justice, they thought was obvious. Deceits, lies, betrayals, distrust, abuse, assisted death, gene pools, creating what you might say is a master race are just some of the issues brought to light by author Lynn Constantine in this multi-complex novel.
As the pieces of the puzzle unravel and they finally figure out how to stop Damon can they? When faced with his own demise in public and arrested for his crimes what happens is mindboggling as the author creates an ending that no one will see coming as a diabolical killer creates an illusion and the world thinks one thing when in reality what you see in front of you is what he wants you to see. Hidden within this plot is another that travels back to the time of Abraham and then follows all the way to Jesus and Judas and the silver coins he received for betraying him. The coins made their way to many places, passed through many royal hands and then wound up in Greece and somehow with Maya’s parents. These coins are the basis for why Damon wanted Maya to have his child and the reasons behind why he kidnapped her and demanded she not resist. But, when questioning her parents as to where they hid the coins the end result would be tragic. A believer in euthanasia, destroying women’s rights, freedoms and life choices are no longer a person’s right, he is what you might call a prophet of some sort who is the only one who benefits from his teachings. As Damon’s goal is to destroy mankind. His power spans through every walk of life, every form of government and no one knows just where his power starts or even ends. No one to trust and who can help them survive as Jack and Taylor make a decision to trust someone and what happens sets a series of events in motion that will rock Taylor’s world. As confessions come to light and they are once again on the move, guns shots, fireworks, and a link to the Nazi torturer Joseph Mengele, the final scenes take on a frightening turn and the ending is so electrifying, so daunting and shocking that readers will know that the end might seem near but it just might be the beginning. When Taylor realizes she has to protect her child, decide on whether she can trust Jack and possibly have a new start with him, the truth about Dakota his wife and why she decided on him will change it all for both of them. Directions and maps set, the coins in question the ultimate goal who wins, who loses and who is going to become the next victim of THE VERITAS DECEPTION?
“In Roman mythology, Veritas, meaning truth, was the goddess of truth, a daughter of Saturn and the mother of Virtus. Two mothers that Taylor knew. One died and the other a part of the biggest deception of Taylor’s life. Can she survive what is next?
