Eye of the Storm: Frank Cavallo
Would you survive in a world that takes you back to before the internet, before cars, horses, trains or any form of modern conveniences? Would you survive in a world where dinosaurs reign, some flying overhead , others that might attack and what about coming face to face with dangerous and fierce Neanderthals could you stand up to them? What happens when you are traveling in an aircraft and you encounter a mysterious storm that takes you across to another world filled with savages, dark wizards and an army of the undead. What about a warrior queen? Navy Seal Eric Slade and Dr. Anna Fayne are about to take a ride back thousands of years in time to where it all began but will they ever find the gateway between the two worlds to return home? Stranded with the others in their team they wind up being the only two to survive as they enter a world deal with a legendary treasure whose power might just help them return home.
Imagine finding the body of a Neanderthal. Imagine wanting to put together a special expedition to go in search of where he came from and to find out more about him. Navy Seal Eric Slade is the team’s leader and TV star and along with Dr. Anna Fayne and their team are focused on finding out the origin of where this man came from. Not every expedition falls right into place as they approach what should have been their destination they are transported to a land that houses prehistoric animals and prehistoric man. They withstand the first two years and never realize just how long they have been away until they meet Kerr a leper who is hoping to help them find their way into this strange land. As the King is about to die and his daughter might just take over as Queen there are those who would prefer she did not.
The different factions are not happy about the change in control and there is definitely going to be a war but when? As Anna finds herself at the hand of another ruler she is given the chance to restore her healthy but at what price? Would you want to live forever in a land where things were out of your control and they were primitive yet some might think that these people created things way beyond their years and the technology like the movable bridge might decrease distances. Wouldn’t that be great!
As Anna Fayne receives an unusual treatment filled with devices that would make most of us shudder and cringe, the life is about to take on a different turn as she is a member of the tribe that Tarquin belongs to. While Eric and Kerr are taken back to where they started and here the words of Queen Threya as she was to dispose of Jack and is supposed to protect Kerr. Eric has no idea that Anna is still alive or that she has been granted eternity. The Black Sun holds the power but will she keep it or will she give it up if lives are to be lost?
As Queen Threya , Tarquin, Eric and Kerr come together lies and betrayals will soon become apparent as to why someone decided to side with them and who is really in danger. As the Shaman has his own agenda and threats are carried out and others forced to give up their power, the more we learn about the Black Sun and the Black Storm the more readers will realize just how powerful this Shaman is and how that will affect Anna who is now his Lieutenant living in a world where she has no feelings, emotions and can no longer feel any environmental changes yet she seems to long to return home.
When the Eye hits there is no control from the storm and Kerr is holding it within him as Tarquin goes to battle with the Shaman and the result you just won’t believe. As Eric, Anna and the others take on the rest Kerr needs to go after the Shaman as the Wizard might have fallen and the need to take the Shaman down is now. But, the raging storms the devastation to his people, the land and his country lets readers know that the worst has yet to come and the end result might not be what Jack and Anna expects or wants. Will they survive the Eye of the Storm or will they all perish? Who will be left to rule when the sun comes out and the mist clears? Will the Pestilence win as it spreads disease all over and kills millions?
Azreth is powerful but when the storm rages and the pestilence grows within Kerr and the two finally face off the battle is evenly matched but Queen Threya makes a request about the dragon and it could mean their lives. The dragon is sacred to her people and cannot be hurt yet she reclines upon the Ghost Stone and they need it to get the final key to stop the Eye of the Storm. Black knights, ghosts, as Tulkoras burns and the city will never be the same engulfed in darkness, flames, burning and the people within gone. Can they mange to stop Azreth and then Tarquin and Kerr can use the Eye to return Jack to his own world. But, did he want to go back? What will happen when Anna takes the reins and the transformation will forever bind her to this land? The black knights could not stand each other as there were more and more offensives sending the Wolf Guard back on their heels. As Anna watched from behind the Etruscan warriors left standing the next assault just might be worse. Lightning thundered down and the heavens open up as the author vividly describes the battles as if you the reader had your own weapons, shields and swords taking part in the fight to save their world. Bows, double blades, axes but the thames did not attack. The black knights settled behind their shields waiting for the onslaught to happen as Tarquin states” We are here to protect you at all costs. If we cannot hold this position, you must get away. We will do whatever we can to see that you make it.” But a hail of arrows fell upon them and Anna might make it but what about the rest? The Wolf Guard charged and followed and Khurghe shouted another order. When the players come together and the final onslaught is fought who will remain victorious?
As the Pestilence Lord summons the swarm watching them come together dark against light, raw elemental powers unleashed. Kerr vs the Shaman who is stronger? But the end result before all is said and done will surprise readers as Kerr demands that the Queen do something in order to safe them all but will she? As the final scenes play out who will remain standing, whose swords will fight another day and who will have survived the EYE OF THE STORM? When Eric is faced with a final decision will he remain beside Anna and the Queen or will he follow the path as the Black sun with its storm within just like the one that came passed through to enter this place it will allow him to see a doorway which contains a passage to other existences and universes? When asked if and when he would like to return home if he survives you will find out his ultimate decision only if you take the journey back in time and decide if you too can live through the turbulence and dangers our THE EYE OF THE STORM.
