Life sometimes throws you a double curve ball and you often have to switch gears in order to deal with the obstacles that might come your way. This is a story about several people that have been given serious roadblocks; obstacles and problems that only by skirting around the law, finding new ways to get what they want will they hope to be successful. Sandy Allen is in prison for life and has no communication with the outside world. Angry because she has stated to deaf ears that she was framed and taking the heat and the time for two people that faked their own deaths and got away with leaving her holding the bag. In a fake suicide note Michael Franklin, a stockbroker and his partner admitted guilt in 100 million dollar Ponzi scheme. But, rather than taking the rap and doing the time it was easier to claim Sandy as the one behind it or the mastermind. She’s smart, crafty, cunning and definitely someone you don’t want to double cross as she weaves a plan so intricate, so well thought out that you won’t believe how she brings so many into the web she has created and at the end the greatest lie of all. Knowing that Michael is alive and so is Angela she refuses to be outplayed and with the help of one of the prison guards she orchestrates a plan that only someone who is versed in day trading and insider trading could possibly pull off. This is a story about power, greed, revenge and retribution of the money kind. Rotting in jail is not what Sandy plans on doing for the rest of her life but how was she going to convince someone to work along with her, give her the tools needed in order to prove her innocence? Flirting with Officer Hicks is step one and convincing him to go along with her plot step two. But, everyone has a price and so does he along with an outside source named Silas she weaves her web of lies and deceit to gain access to a cell phone and other means of communication in order to set her plan in motion. Placing her money in bit coins she is able to handle her accounts, transferring the coins and paying not only Silas for his PI services but Hicks for the huge amount of money he wants to provide the communication and other things needed to pull this off. She is smart, untouched by emotions and definitely going to do anything she can to get out.
Meet Ivan, who pretends to be a successful day trader but is in debt to the mob for thousands. Anyone that has ever asked them to fund a loan knows they do not take it too kindly if they are not paid on time and of course with a huge amount of interest. Pretending to be successful he manages to convince his sister Betty and her husband Charlie to let him stay in their basement. What they don’t know is that the mob is after him and he hopes they won’t come knocking on this door to find him.
Working for an abusive boss who manages to question his skills, his accounts and finally realizing that he needs to move on Charlie takes a giant step and quits his job but not before telling his boss that he just might blow the whistle on him what he’s doing to him and to others.
When his brother-in-law comes to stay with them in his basement and he has quit his job, his wife is distressed but he is naïve and convinced that becoming a day trader is the answer to his woes. The author creatively with much research and skill explains to the reader the different methods of day trading and the one that Charlie and Ivan used was called Pump and Dump, which to those that never ventured into this field might find quite alluring and tempting.
Get to know Silas, Sandy’s PI and learn what happens when he is able to get into the hard drive of the two people that are supposedly dead and what he finds just might or might not get her a get out of jail free card but how?
Defining pump and dump as an illegal scam or illegal act of an investor or group of investors to promote a stock they hold and then selling it once the price of the stock rises following the huge interest as a result of the endorsement. Promoting the stock as a hot tip or the greatest or next big thing with details of an upcoming news announcement sending the stock sky high or as some say through the roof. Each scam is different but the scheme always breaks down to one basic principal: Shifting supply and demand. These scams only work on small and micro-cap stocks that are traded over the counter. These companies tend to be highly illiquid and can have sharp price movements when the volume increases. In this case as presented by the author Ivan and Sandy who are behind the scam increase the demand and trading volume of a stock and this new inflow of investors leads to a huge rise on the price. The stock we are referring is for a Pharma company called Integrated Pharma Development Corporation hoping to find a cure for MS. But, when the announcement is made that the FDA denied its patent application for a new MS drug based on Phase III clinical trial results, citing dangerous side effects, the roof falls in on both Ivan and Charlie. So even though they were making money now they lost quite a bit.
Lessons should be learned when something too good to be true comes your way especially when you are being coerced into investing, told you can’t lose, or when someone you don’t know gives you a stock tip you might want to do some research and rethink investing. Don’t think that you will make huge sums of money with this type of quick investment or get a huge return because unless you can afford to lose a lot don’t do it!
Sandy is now desperate and needs some help from her past so she manages to contact Ivan hoping he will go along with her latest scheme to make money now that he is broke. The author recaps her story and how she claims to have been set up and framed on pages 119-120 and the truth behind Ivan losing his job is revealed within chapter 28. Ivan is a PI and Sandy is desperate and needs to hire him and sweet-talks him into playing along with her scheme.
Ivan is desperate and needs to pay back the mob the interest and money owed but when he gets what he needs instead of being smart and paying them back he outfoxes himself. Everything he sent her she read and now let’s all call her Tradur Gurl and who will be forever known as Coyote until well you won’t believe what happens when the best laid plans explode. They started by buying shares with the symbol XZQX a little at time. But, Ivan decided to buy some for himself, but thinking she won’t know and neither will anyone else hoping to triple his investment. What happens when the SEC computer notices a spike alerting an irregularity? What happens when Tina they think is as they say crying wolf again, but this time they need to pay closer attention as she explains her findings on pages 134-135 and they realize it is the same stock that Ivan and Sandy have bought into and of course they have yet to learn the brokerage firm or about them. But, what happens next is that he states he is hearing rumors that XZQX has developed a new cancer drug and will announce a Phase III trail soon. Watch it soar!
But, things don’t always go as planned as day trader identifies a positive investment situation and buys his position which is considered his fair to share the opportunity with others. Charlie seems to understand but does he really understand the magnitude of what he is involved in? The SEC realizes what is happening and calls it stock manipulation and things from this point on spiral in many horrific directions. Tradur Gurl links once again to Ivan but no one sees another player coming into the action as the SEC gets a known trader Blackie to have to play along with them to get this scam closed down. Not wanting any part of it he has no choice because he will find himself exactly where Sandy is if he doesn’t play their scam you might say. Getting to know Charlie is one way he infiltrates his organization but when Ivan disappears and is later found well you know the mob and I don’t have to tell you the outcome it’s up to Charlie to forge ahead with the help of Sandy.
Silas is still at work but Office Hicks does not believe her anymore but when pictures are delivered to her proving that Michael and Angela are alive what happens you won’t believe when she finally gets an audience with the warden who just might not be concerned with or following prisoner rights.
Things spiral downhill and Charlie is caught in his own web of lies, corruption, stock fraud and deceit as Sandy has to figure out a way to save herself before she spends the rest of her life rotting in prison. The plan with the help of Silas is priceless, brilliant and author P.T. Dawkins sets the bar for this original and definitely unique way for Sandy, if it works to find herself outside. With the aid of Officer Hicks and this diabolical plan things should weave in her direction but what happens at the end you need to read for yourself as Michael and Angela will they finally get what they deserve? Will Sandy’s plan work and will Charlie remain free or will he pay another type of price as the SEC wants him, his wife is angry with the loss of money and the end result is a twist you just won’t see coming. Everyone wants to get rich but some get rich schemes might not pan out and find yourself victim of another TRADUR GURL. Great story, definitely believable and definitely lessons to be learned for those thinking they can pull this off too. Charlie is naïve, Sandy is cunning and you won’t if the author is going to let readers know just what happens to her next.
