The Last Mrs. Parris: Liv Constantine
Wealth, control, power, your every need and desire fulfilled but at what price? Some women relish in the comforts that their husband’s provide even it if means that their lives are conducted, orchestrated, coordinated and mastermind by someone else. Amber Patterson and Daphne Parrish want the same thing a rich woman’s life with Jackson Parrish on their arms. Both women will give you’re their side of the story, their perspective and perception of how they view this man, why they vie for his love and attention. One will stop at nothing to steal what the other woman has, namely her life. One will do all that she can to become a strong force in this man’s life no matter what she has to do to get there. Tired of being considered undervalued, a nobody, a frump, Amber Patterson methodically, cold and calculatingly becomes immersed in the lifestyle that Daphne Parris she feels takes for granted. A chance meeting at a gym and a friendship based on lies begins. Claiming that her sister died of Cystic Fibrosis as Daphne’s sister did, they form a close and exclusive bond. Money, power, all the clothes you could not possibly wear in a year or more, Amber sets her sights on her goal: Jackson. Part one of this psychological thriller will introduce and delve into the life of Amber, just how dangerous she is as she becomes part of the exclusive Bishops Harbor, Connecticut town worming her way into the life and home of socialite and philanthropist Daphne Parrish. The minute Amber gets to know her better she creates lies, stories, fictitious events that cause Daphne to want to help her overcome her sadness and sorrows. She even invites her to join the organization in memory of her sister and work on the benefit. But, members of the committee are not that naïve and Daphne’s compassion and caring will soon be used by Amber to undermine her in the eyes of anyone that will listen namely Jackson. There are always two sides to every story so the authors created this one from two different viewpoints and through the eyes of two women who were taken in by this psychopath and actually thought he was capable of making anyone but himself happy. A real=estate mogul giving Daphne a Cinderella life in a palace filled with ornaments, things of great value but missing the one thing she needed warmth and true love. Perfection is what he expected and the consequences for daring to divert from his orders or plans might lead you somewhere you won’t ever escape.
Amber falls prey to Jackson’s wiles, desires and engages and insinuates herself in their life even when Jackson at first would prefer she was not there. Cruelty comes easy to him and before long we wonder why Daphne’s mother Ruth seems to have exiled from her life. Her father died, Jackson appeared to care but the superficial veneer is hiding someone she needs to escape. Amber is cold and calculating and manages to replace Daphne at dinner and the theater since Daphne claimed her daughter was sick. Thrilled to have Jackson all to herself this was step one of destroying his marriage and becoming the next Mrs. Parris.
Bella and Tallulah are her daughters who are given everything they need and are seriously spoiled. Tallulah is smart, cunning and outspoken and Bella is highly explosive when she does not get her every wish. Bella has a reading problem and is often criticized and her feelings hurt. Tallulah is smart and can master anything. Amber uses the fact that Daphne misses her sister and her fake story and her compassion and caring for her to carefully and methodically using lies that she tells Jackson and the opposite for Daphne to create doubt in both of their minds about their feelings for each other. Amber even manages to go on family vacations, fill in for Daphne many times and then finally wins Jackson and gets him into her bed and the end of part one will alert you that what happens in part two will unravel and unveil truths about Jackson that only Daphne can tell. But, first understand that Daphne got Amber a job in Jackson’s company and slowly and carefully she drugged his assistant hoping to get rid of her and get her job which she does. But, Amber as you will learn is not really Amber and her past is frightening and what she is capable of doing and does do pales in comparison to what other sociopaths do. She’s a perfect match for Jackson as we turn to Daphne and hear her voice after allowing Amber to tell us in part one just how she was going to make sure Jackson doubted his wife and would take her as a replacement instead. You see, Jackson wants a son and Daphne did not give him what he wants and that is unacceptable.
If Amber could speak she would have a huge sinister smile on her face, the thoughts would be purely selfish and she would possibly say at the end of part one: Mission Accomplished. I have achieved my goal.
Daphne speaks next and in part two the world and the complexion will change for both Amber and Daphne. Just what will she reveal? What happens when Jackson decides to demean her even more? What about the sexual abuse he inflicts on both women using his power to control them at any cost to them?
The authors allow us to get to learn how they met, their relationship and how controlling he was from the start. Dinners where he wanted to go, clothing of his choice for her and then friends that would meet his approval. Even though she wanted to continue with her CF fund raising organization he seemed to not care about anything that made her happy but it took a while for her to see through his façade. Jackson Parrish would never accept no or any disobedience. He treated everyone with indifference and distain and wanted complete compliance. When Daphne got out of line, gained weight, look slovenly and did not own up to his standard of what a wife should be, you won’t believe how diabolical he reacts, the cruelties he inflicted on her and the face that she realized that she had to devise a plan of her own to rid herself of his heinous crime for a husband. Two daughters that were spoiled yet without knowing it in a sense afraid of him, as he insulted Bella for her learning problems and praised Tallulah when it suited him to pit them against each other, alienating Ruth, Daphne’s mother and making her family and others think she was mentally ill and having her committed.
As the story from Amber’s side blends into the story with Daphne’s side we see a whole new Daphne who has gone back to school, taken psychology classes, learned the ins and outs of criminal psychology and managed to divorce her mind from the physical and mental abuses he inflicted on her until she devised a creative plan to rid herself of this demonic demon. When Amber learns she is having a son and Daphne finally gets her wish a divorce, things will surprise, shock and alert readers that a hailstorm is about to descend but you won’t believe on who and the ramifications or where the heavy stones will fall.
Tallulah and Bella hate Amber. Daphne wants her out of her life. Jackson thinks he has all the cards as Lynn and Valerie our co-authors create an ending equal to that of Alfred Hitchcock or even the Sherlock Holmes. Amber has a secret that Daphne unveiled. Jackson uses this secret to own and control Amber. Daphne learns something about Jackson that might take him down. An ending that will have you on the edge of your seat wondering just how far will two women go to get their coveted prize. Jackson Parrish thinks the world is his and no one can touch him.
Two women from different socioeconomic backgrounds: Amber dirt poor and Daphne from a middle class family. One thinking she is crafty and conniving and will win the prize and thinking the other is slovenly and dumb. Sometimes what you think you see in front of you is not what really is. Whose academy award performance will win and take the coveted prize? The winner in this case might be the loser. Jackson Parrish piranha, pariah, sadist and liar as he twists the truth, uses his influence to overtake the hearts and minds of two women whose only quest is supposed to make him happy. Deceits, betrayals, lies, power, money, control and just the plain satisfaction of feeling superior Jackson Parrish thinks he’s untouchable. But, will his boat sink?
A story that is true to life and might have been ripped out of a psychiatrist’s files, this is one book that will keep you riveted to the printed page from start to finish.
Open the file Jackson, read it and weep, hear someone’s voice that has remained silent for so long and decide who will be the last and final MRS PARRISH?
Sometimes when you wish for something long enough you just might get it! I wonder which one would say it was worth it!
