Creating your own image and your new world takes skill, strategy and intelligence. Do we ever really know the person that we married? How many of us do a background check to learn about the other person’s past to see if they have any hidden skeletons in their closet? Newly married Garth and Lacey Wainwright are enjoying their honeymoon in Austria until someone from the past comes riding past them in the present and their world is about to explode. Looking straight at the man known at the Assassin, Lacey pieces together events that happened in the past and the presence of someone named BJ that worked with her before becoming an ADA, would haunt them both until they uncovered the reason they were in Austria and confronted them but will they get the chance?

Returning to California when Garth learns that his brother Bobby died in a construction accident, leads to a chain of events that will alter their lives forever. On the way back from the funeral someone at the funeral followed them, had their destination mapped out and managed to get the plan in place as they were forced off the road. Garth is seriously injured but a young Deputy manages to get him out and to a hospital for medical care. Severely injured and thought never to survive, he was in a coma for days and woke up with no memory of the accident, his life, his wife or anything from his past.

Visitors come and go but Garth needs to piece it together himself because in the end he learns that someone has kidnapped his wife but why? Who?

Revenge is the motive behind her kidnapping and there’s a team of people that Marcos Muragh had in place even before being released from prison. But, the assassin Ariel Amiti would stop at nothing to take this man down at all costs. Lacey made sure that Marcos went to prison and for that he would never forgive her plus in her youth she dated his son Fabio who wound up taking care of his father’s business but was killed in prison and heartsick when she dumped him.

The author flashes back and forth for readers to get to know Lacey before meeting Garth, as a young girl whose father left and whose mother’s pastime or hobby was dating many men. When she died Lacey was sent to live with an uncle who demanded that she service him in order to live under his roof and that of many of his friends. Growing up in an abusive environment set the stage for her own form of revenge, life and what would lead to her possible downfall in the present.

When released from the hospital and finding himself going through the papers and files in his home, what is revealed about Lacey is a life of abuse, torture and learning how to live on her instincts by creating a business around the world and in many states for personal escorts. When Garth gets to know his wife’s secrets he enlists the help of FBI agent Greg Mulholland, his wife Stacy who works for the SEC, Boston Investigator Renato Wilson and the man known as the assassin who becomes an unholy ally in a plot to not only take down Murtagh but others too. Learning more about the inner workings of her office, and dealing with Carson Starr her immediate boss and DA Grandy when you learn about her past, her alias, Delilah, and her business name Trinity Stormm, things will begin to come into place but there is much more to be revealed. Lying to him by omission is that the same as deception and deceit? Learning about her other life and dealing with the fact she was kidnapped would he continue the search? What role does Carson play and what about Grandy? As the pieces fall into place and the flashbacks become more graphic and we learn just who her Uncle Tommy’s friends were, the truth will shock readers and the depth that he went to use her is astounding and more than criminal. Added in Deputy Robinson helps provide the files needed for Garth to learn more feeling he has a stake in the outcome for saving his life.

When the author shares Lacey’s fate, where she is being held readers will know the lengths to which Marcos will go in order to take out on her what he feels she deserves. Locked in basements, in cells so small she could hardly breathe, using her alter personality, to help get her through at times when her Uncle’s friends used her, having to find a way without her to help with what Marcos made her endure, Lacey is smart, astute and will not give in to this man. While Marcos wants to buy a business owned by Sean Quinn an extremely wealthy man but Ariel has his orders from someone else to make sure that never happens.

Complex relationships and discord as well as the struggle to deal with the hidden truths that Lacey never revealed to Garth are at the heart of his dilemma. Can he work through them? What will happen if he confronts her? The staff at UCLA Medical Center gave him his life but will he run with it or fall back?

Author Walter Danley allows readers to hear Garth’s viewpoint and although at times the narrative is in the third person, this thoughts and feelings do come through as well as when Stacy shares Lacey’s past and Greg has to come full circle with what is revealed as she hid the truth about her friendship and time with Lacey from him.

Fabio Murtagh made the mistake of getting into gunrunning but his other mistake was angering people, stepping on toes and paying the ultimate price. Lacey is the lawyer who locked up Murtagh and Ariel Amriti, the Assassin murdered his son. Revenge comes like the prongs of a tong grabbing the thick pieces of ice and then crushing them with your teeth as they slowly fall apart.

Listening to Stacy’s account about Trinity Stormm only gave more fuel for the fire and turned Garth’s stomach inside out. Now, he would have to focus on what he wanted to do next.

Ernest Cruz thinks he has it all figured out and completed his mission but when dealing with Murtagh you never know the outcome and things are not what they seem. While Quinn has to make a decision about which person will get his company but first he seems enamored with BJ and just what is her real goal and can she be trusted?

When all of the players are in place and Amriti offers to help get Lacey back, the plan will shock readers, stun Garth as someone close to Lacey is not what that person appears to be and lies, betrayals and cover-ups for greed and pleasures that most should not have or inflict on young girls comes to light. An ending so explosive, so tense and so highly electrified that it will bring tears to the eyes of readers and let you know that when your past becomes your present the future might not be what you hope it will hold.

What is the final outcome of their plan? Will they find Lacey? What will the world hold for Garth? Will Murtagh get his just rewards and who else will pay the ultimate price for so many that have their own definitions and their own way of executing their INSIDE MOVES.
