There are many countries that have been divided into two worlds leaving some ruled in demo while the other a dictatorship. But in the world that author Josie Jaffrey created there are those living in the Blue and the rest in the Red. The Red is where the world is dying off and in the Blue those living there are either servants and forced into relationships that bind them to someone forced on both parties or chosen for something else.
Claudia met with her master and was seriously defiled and need Julia and Livia to attend her. While Julie would learn she was next in line chosen to be an attendant although her function in the Blue was to serve others.
Cameron returned from the Red and the Empress asked him to search for Emily who’s been gone a long time. No hesitation and just arriving in the Blue no one would deter him from his quest.
Julie is caught in this world and fears if she escapes it would be her demise. Lucas is her master and not quite what she expected. He’s a noble hiding in the Blue.
Comparing worlds and finding those who’d help him give him shelter we learn about the power of Meat blood and why Cameron is a vegan. The parallels are many as in both worlds some live an infinite amount of years but not all face eternal youth. Red VS. Blue, which would mirror the real world you’d like to live in if this, really happened?
Julia is becoming frightened about herself and the person she’s becoming, someone she hardly knows.
Anyone entering the Blue from the Red is contaminated and diseased and is immediately tossed back as Marcus was captured by the guards for supposedly killing someone the Empress passed sentence on the word of a guard. Marcus lost his voice silenced.
A World of class distinction and racism and prejudice where young girls are given to young men not of their choice as attendants and Candidates. Julia is now Lucas’s but Claudia’s seems to want her too. The Blue citizens never go against the Empress or the guards and are submissive as you witness their actions when Marcus is sentenced.
Cam is traveling in the Red and comes across someone that winds up bitten and finally dead taking his made but giving it to his family later on.
Julia and Lucas come to some type of understanding as she insists on moving things ahead as his new attendant.
Cameron leads us into the Red and the differences are apparent between the two worlds. People in the Red have no control from the invaders who can take their families or children away never to be seen again as Julia deals with Lucas and has mixed feelings about her new role.
Cameron winds up hurt and someone finds him and together they see the carnage and the corpses with tainted blood and as Julia learn more about Lucas and the Silver. Cameron is not human and the struggles he encounter VS those Julia deals with might bring down two different worlds as Lucas believes in fairytales with happy endings but in this world created by the author unexpected will be the norm.
Flashing between the blue and red we see the event where each monkey chooses his attendant and the rifts between Lucas and one other as Julia learns her fate but the blood and deaths that followed reveal why the blue might not be safe and escaping to the red a thought. Cam and Felix battle the weepers the virus contaminated blood confusion dead corpses infected and have to find their own way so safety
Lucas and Rufus have their own private battles and Marcella the Empress winds up not where she expected to be and Julia and Lucas will speak about what’s next as he plans to exit the blue but will she be part of his life? Cam in the meantime is dealing with more deaths contaminated blood and hoping to find Emily.
A bond formed between Felix and cam stronger then family and tighter than a huge noose as they encounter human deceptions deceits and learn what someone had planned for cam yet pain danger injuries and tainted blood could not keep him from his quest. While Julia finds out a secret about Rufus’s parentage and has to find her own place of safety as the blue was changing and power struggles were in place in a works where young girls were owned by their masters where the silver ruled and humans served them where the caste system at times seemed in balanced.
The ending might change the dynamics of both worlds as cam faces off with his own enemies and Julia Lucas and Claudia face some harsh realities too in a world where weepers want to reign and blood can cure or kill in hope of survival who will remain in tact?
Lucas learns that someone close to him might not be a friend and when Julia and Claudia wind up all alone will he come to their rescue as her Master? Who can be trusted as we flash to the Red and Felix learning more about the dead bodies, the contaminated blood and who might live and be cured and who might die? What will Cameron decide to do? Find the lost queen or turn back? What about his friendship with Tommy will that fall apart? Two separate worlds yet both facing a serious downfall, as author Josie Jaffrey creates a story not so different than some people in some countries endure today.
An ending quite unique as Julia and Lucas come to a realization they will have to deal with in the future and cam learns the meaning of trust loyalty and deception when the bodies are cleared and his mission is defined but will he succeed and who can be trusted?
Blue vs. Red, which would you, choose to live in? Which is safe and which will kill all that enter? The story has more to come and the evil who created it just waiting for his opportunity. The last paragraph sets the stage as you learn the meaning of The Gilded king.
