I Will Never Leave You

Sometimes within a person’s mind they feel justified in their actions even when deep down they know or should know they are wrong. In some cases when lives are at stake and relationships are faltering one person might create their own outcome even if it seems like a reality to them but to others they might surface as delusional.

James and Trish have been married many years without having a much-wanted child. Fertility tests, refusing to use a surrogate, no other methods worked, James found himself in the bed and arms of Laurel and later the father of a little girl. But, Trish has control of their finances and if he asks for a divorce he gets nothing.

Trish has it all figured it out in her mind thinking that Laurel will hand over the child and allow her to become her mother. The situation becomes tense as James brings Trish to the hospital and the conversation between theses two women allows readers into the minds of two women who both think James will pick them and support the child and the mother while Trish has other ideas.

Flashback to her father and how he meets James and his astute assessment of him we realize that her father was no different than James in the fidelity department. As Trisha befriends some of the hospital staff she allows them to think she’s Laurel’s mother giving her access to the child and making me wonder why Laurel didn’t get her banned from her room.

Things spiral out of control as both Trish and Laurel use Anne Elise as the pawn in this game. Laurel calls her Zerena and James Anna Elise but the child seems content with her mother yet Trish feels that she too has a bond but meeting James more in depth you wonder where his allegiance is and what he’s going to do.

When Laurel’s parents show up out of nowhere the relationship between her and these people seems odd and suspect yet Jim managed to court them both and win them over. Great manipulation and acting making you wonder who is really delusional?

Listening to her father with James you wonder where this is going yet James seems torn and wants to appease both sides

James explains to Laurel that things take time and of course we realize Trish has the money and he’s not going to allow her to cut him off. It the ledgers and papers signed that he’d pay back his debts let’s us know that Laurel might be hoping he’ll choose her but who knows when money’s involved. Trish has her sites set on destroying her adversary and hires a private investigator to dig up the dirt on laurel and her family. Will this help her win?

What we learn from the private investigator is shocking and Jim learns to what lengths laurel would go to snag him away from Trish. But, when the child is kidnapped and the parents of the mother arrive and the hospital staff realizes Trish duped them will they find Anne Elise? What about the money Tully, Laurel’s father handed him to invest? Who did he give it to and why? What other deceits come out as the plot takes all the characters on a downward spiral or roller coaster about to crash.

Blackmail plays a vital role when dealing with James through Trish’s eyes and Simpkins the private investigator each one looking to profit from someone else’s mistakes. Just how would what is revealed to Trish change it all and who goes off on a tangent leaving readers wondering the fate of the two who started it all.

Trish has her own diabolical plan to take away everything from laurel using her money and power over James thinking she can destroy what he has with Laurel. Laurel is in the hospital and Anne Elise is missing and realizes who took her but will the police find her or us something sinister at work?

Each of the principal characters rationalizes his / her position as Trish uses the fact that her father is a rich banker, Jack Riggs and she’s lauded hoping money buy it all. But, the police come and go and Jim stays away while laurel is fighting for survival.

Truths are revealed and a shocking revelation comes to light as author S.M.Thayer sheds an illuminating light on the deception and betrayal that will rock many worlds and send the final outcome in an unexpected direction with a finale or conclusion you will never see coming.

Trish seems to feel she’s in control and by her actions you wonder just how far her delusional personality will take her considering she’s popping Valium like candy. Jim signs forms to get money and the Private Investigator off his back. Bit each voice is more desperate than the other and Laurel seems to not realize she might be the next casualty if she does not see through the fog that’s blinding her from seeing the truths that are hidden.

Where is Anne Elise? Why haven’t the police found her? What does Trish think her father will do? How far will she go to keep Jim?

Lies come out and Trish faces more deceptions and someone close to her betrays her trust and love feelings get in the way and judgments are clouded as the author creates a finale equal to an episode on the twilight zone. Whose lives will never be the same? Who learns a lesson that will instill fear forever? Just who threatens someone and whose final words will linger in the heart of someone and the minds of readers when theses words will haunt: I will never leave you! A powerful story of survival, justification, revenge, greed, power, control and betrayals on all sides plus one man who got caught in the middle of his own physical weakness and desires to learn what happens when one woman is so possessed and so fatally flawed that she is one person that claims She will never leave you! The ending is a shock and the author might leave room for a sequel.
