The novel is told in the first person by the Gray Man as he takes you into his mind, his rationale for his plans, attacks and movements as he takes on three men sent to take down a police chief, a young girl with the same Toftoy in mind to question him about her missing sister as he takes them all in and the end result is there are some angry and dangerous men that want him gone.
Talyssa Corbu is an analyst for Eurodollar and is caught in this dangerous web of greed, murder and profit. Corbu is tough as we see Gentry once again take down a cell but this time the two men in charge of the operation are going after him full speed. We meet Maya and a group of girls taken and left with Serbians , Albanians and others who mistreated them and then placed on a boat but it’s yet to he knows their final fate. Used as objects being sold or products you hear both sides the voices of these men in it for profit and Gentry who’s going to take them down. But the man at the top thinks he’s immune to retribution. Added in we meet Roxana , the sister of Talyssa and we hear her voice telling why and how her sister became involved in her mission and she blames hardy because she was taken.
Gentry is relentless and won’t stop until he finds Roxana but the man in charge called The Director has his own plans for her and sending a psychiatrist to make her more amiable you must hear the results. The henchmen devised a plan to teach her a lesson but sometimes the answers and responses get different results.
Roxana meets Gentry and the end result is shocking as she is loyal to the other girls but what will her final fate be as the psychologist continues to try and get her to submit to their ways and Gentry and Talyssa have to stop what is about to happen as the ship that’s girls are in destined for Venice and the director wants her .
Author Mark Greany takes readers deep inside the world of sex trafficking inside the minds of those that are part of the consortium and the innocent and naive girls falling prey to their lies and brainwashing. This is a powerful novel that highlights this horrific and dangerous mode of profiting at the expense of human dignity and freedom and it’s something happening somewhere right now. It needs to be addressed and it made a lead story on the news today.
Wanting to enlist the resources and help form his handler, Susanne the result is they are not interested in the consortium and even less in learning more about the sex trafficking issues. They want him back at the agency and for them to even consider helping him he needs to agree to return but instead he realizes that going outside of the law and dealing with it his own way is the solution. Talyssa is enlisted once again to help him and he needs a source in Romania she says that is quite good at hacking. This novel takes us in many places, many ports and inside the world of these people that justify their actions at the sacrifice of others.
Things almost become a stalemate as Jaco, and his team are Venice with the girls and hope to have eyes on Gentry but so does the CIA and Suzanne Brewer his old boss plus her boss and his friend Chris Travers who wants him taken too. Called the Violator he’s deadly . Added in the Director is present and his mind on his quarry while Talyssa goes to Amsterdam to approach a reluctant hacker and this scene shows she’s willing to go to any lengths to get what she wants. Explaining to Zack Hightower a CIA contract employee. Former CIA special activities division , what his plan is, the fact he’s working with Talyssa and about the trafficking. They run the girls from the east, through the Balkans and then to Italy where they were sold. Explaining they make billions of dollars a year plus someone in the CIA is corrupt. He and Talyssa are going to break it open and she’s working on getting the intel needed but at what sacrifice?
Zack is a Poison Apple asset like him, and he needs him to help without betraying his superiors but will he or will Gentry take a different approach? Telling the truth about someone higher up that’s part of the Consortium. Will he believe it?
The final scenes are explosive as Gentry has a team of men that found the girls, each able to handle a weapon and the director is down to his guard and one other as his family is in San, his wife reads him the riot act and one daughter dies nit follow directions. What about Roxana who’s in the key to the possible downfall of the consortium?
An ending that lets you know it’s far from over yet as one psychologist, one billionaire, one Gray Man and several girls that he hopes make it to safeties Gentry learns their meaning of betrayal and deceit as he ponders his future. Characters that are strong, villains that are combative and one Gray Man that learn the danger of an operation that might need to land with only one minute out. The ending makes you wonder just where Gentry will wind up as the major betrayal occurs, he manages to deal with the Director in a unique and painful way, but is this the end of the sex trafficking consortium? Why is someone higher up so involved, and will one man turn to the other side to live?
