Hit list Stuart Woods

Hit List: Stuart Woods

Imagine receiving a list with ten names and yours is number ten. It’s not a gift list, invitation list but a killer’s list of who is being targeted for death. Stone Barrington is number ten on the list but had no idea why he’s in it. With his friend the Police Commissioner and their resources they hope to protect the other 9. Security called, his house swept for bugs but will this prevent what a deadly killer has in mind. Did he offend him or was this because of a woman that Stone might have taken away?

Armed and ready it didn’t stop him from leaving to go to dinner or even inviting guests but he’ll soon learn that this killer is elusive, clever, hides in plain sight and just might take him down.

In the middle of this turmoil Vanessa Baker turns up and remains with him for much of the novel as they travel the globe hoping to elude this killer but he’s always several steps ahead. London, Paris, New York and just about anywhere on Earth that he had a house, Stone,Dino Viv and Vanessa and a host of police, security guards and more hope to stop the man identified as Sig Larkin. Formerly working for Strategic Services and the FBI this man is smart and will kill several on the list but Stone won’t skate so fast this time.

Dinner out proved dangerous as shots were fired and bodies fell as wherever Stone is someone manages to find him. As the body count rises and his plane is sabotaged and dinner plans ruined, Stone, Dino and s slew of security hope to catch this killer. But what happens when a dangerous women finds her way into Stone’s life and she happens to be the girlfriend of this killer. Frances Bowers is naive and blind to this man but one incident would change it and Stone’s protection they hoped would keto her safe but Sig is smart and two police guards are taken down and the end result is quite startling as author Stuart Woods gives readers an inside look at the cunning oof this killer and just how money and greed might win out.

With Vanessa leaving and someone else taking her place and my favorite chartJoan taking him in hand, the reader wonders what he would do if she ever left.

The tensions rise, the killer is hiding in plain sight and Stone is seriously injured and winds up in the hospital but will he make it and who’s next?

Larkin is smart and Stone finds him behind his house or even in the pub where they were having dinner. The security even found an electronic wall in his his study. A news man was shot in London while waiting for a doorman to get him a taxi. Cuomo London, to Saint-Germain -des-Pres, to New York, Harper Island, Maine and more Stone has to escape this man before he’s the last death on the hit list.

Frances is in the hospital after trying to take out Stone but no one is safe and one slip costs four more lives.

Someone close to Stone is hit, another women in his life this time a plastic surgeon named Jenna Post but chances of it lasting are slim.

A mole in the department might be who’s leaking info as we learn about a first grade detective that was lost but just what was his role with Larkin? Then Ed Eagle is hurt and the danger is increased as the tension rises and each time they get closer they find themselves five steps back. Money trans Ian’s a killer on the run but not before he attempts to take out Herb Fisher an attorney with the firm Stone works for. The final scenes are fast paced as Stone buys an expensive motorcycle that just might or might not save his life as the chase is on, the dinner halted, the shots fired and Stone has to once again fight to survive.

An election night is at hand and Holly is back on the scene will she win? Will they connect? Will he be the final death on the Hit List? More to come!
