Flight Risk
The technology that monitors flights us extensive. When something goes wrong and a plane crashes the airlines focuses on the black box hoping to get the information needed to understand what happened. Mnemosyne created a digital black box that was still in its testing or trial stages. Why are the being sued?
Things heat up when a plane crashes and Jett Glover is out on the story for Washington Sources his newspaper. As Savannah Daniels is dealing with the upcoming mediation for her clients John snd Rochelle , Flight 2840 crashes mirroring another one from the past. On this flight as Savannah and her team learn was the wife of Mr. Garbot and her ex- husband Dustin Tate ,Logan Donnelly a prime baseball player traded to a team in Boston and at count 185 on the flight. Things spiral out of control when the client for the plaintiff leaves the mediation, the lawyers fight it out and nothing is settled.
Then a phone call from her niece Addy Jo alerts her to the fact that she needs her aunt, and an article in the paper written by Glover sets off a dangerous chain of events. The article deals with these two men and one more, Evan Spencer plus a mysterious fourth man who Glover cannot get a handle on. All four travel to Thailand and as the article states , “to exploit the people forced to worth in the shadows of the sex industry.” Yet Jett receives an anonymous phone call stating that he got it wrong and the athletes were there to save the girls. While Savannah was dealing with the mediation and her clients company that planned to launch a primarily digital black box and money was running out. They were being sued for patent infringement alleging the tech actually belonged to Flight Technology Solutions.
The meeting is unusual and what’s revealed leads Savannah to learn that lies are being hurled at her by her clients and the flight was recorded but you won’t believe how or why? TheFBI wants the flight recordings but how did their digital black box get on the plane?
Then Addy Jo calls to take her to her dad’s got the night and what happens turns her world upside down and the fear inside and out of her is real. The police are tough on her and the investigation has a long way to go. Is Addy Jo. Then child protective services was called and Stasi her mother is arrested for threatening the principal of her school and then the author reveals information about her clients, the black box and more.
Jett and Savannah decide yo search for clues in Dustin’s apartment only to be blindsided by someone who hit their first. The author adds the voice of a killer who tells the reader his/ her innermost thoughts and how there are more victims to kill.
Savannah seems out of sorts and the car accidents has odd results as the dramatic conclusion.
Things get more dangerous and the police more involved as Savannah was named the executor if Dustin’s will and Addy Jo seems to be in the middle of a difficult mess as where will she wind up, why leaving get alone and why is Savannah trying to solve his murder with Jett. It seems that he likes her but his main focus is the story that someone claims he had all wrong.
Truths and lies come full circle and some one sets the record straight. Just what was Dustin and his team doing? Were the really there to save the girls. But when the voice of revenge becomes a reality and Savannah has to face off with the killer and the person behind placing the digital box on the plane, the end result will shake her to the core and she’ll have to find the new definition of trust.
Characters well developed and a story ripped right out of the headlines as the author brings to light the importance of honest journalism, research, fact checking and admitting you got it wrong if the story you wrote did not deliver it right. Some endings are new beginnings as Savannah finds herself learning from her past and hopefully finding a new present. Getting on a plane you definitely know as the passengers on flight 2840 did just might be. Flight Risk.
