NITE FIRE

Nite Fire

Paid to be an executioner by Queen Naalish on the world called Drimera, Dahilia Nite is about to be executed herself. But she is resourceful and finds a way to leave her world and due to Earth and spends 97 and a half years helping the planet by hiding evidence that a parallel world exists. She is a Lyrriken, half human and  half dragon. Her mother is human but raised by the elder dragons who demand obedience.

After 100 years she things that the Queen has forgotten about her and wants to live in Sentinel City. But, cases come her way, bodies are mutilated and burned, and Dahlia finds herself in a storm of deceptions, lies and deceits.

Returning to earth she in enlisted to investigate a crime scene that happened and the result and the visual you will see is quite compelling and graphic. She hopes to avenge the deaths of these people in one family that were burned and mutilated and find out who is behind it.

Given a partner in Detective Creed, Dahlia wants to assess the scene of the murders. The father is in the hospital and they are about to question him, but she needs her coffee and finds herself blindsided by someone from her past who is out to destroy and hurt her and does. Refusing help she wants to see where the murders occurred, but someone torched the father who and why and how? Dahlia refreshes her own memories about how she came to Earth, why she is there to solve these cases and yet you wonder if it is for her own self worth or to really save mankind. A video would change it all as Creed played the feed and an older woman appeared on the screen and it makes you wonder what part she might have played as she opened the door for the woman, and she was then enveloped in smoke. Not telling anyone about it she was a witness to what happened, and Creed called her on it.

The bodies on the street were incinerated at the same temperature as the Chandler family. Whatever was used was the same weapon for all the murders but who was behind it and why?

He accused her of obstruction of justice and then things get even more tense as she claims he is accusing her of killing Ella and her family and  burned a little girl’s body in half, a little boy watched him die the day before on his birthday makes her sound merciless. As the novel continues there are more deaths, more murders and she is relentless and will not stop until she figures out what is behind it. Is it human or is it dragon or something else?
The more she delves into the murders the more her instincts tell her that she might have to get away. What is the past finds her in the present in this world? How long can she run from her own secrets and truths? Is she doing this to avenge the deaths or for her own self-worth and self-esteem?
Her home world is at the root of this. People from her past come back and test her. Her visions of the deaths and murders haunt her at the most unusual times as she is investigating the case or something else. Even her mentor Oren does not reveal everything to her and working with Creed they each play off each other’s ego’s and more.

Frankie was her best friend and the owner of a gym the surprise ending about what he decides to leave her shocks Dahlia, but will she honor what he wants from her? Added in when you read the epilogue and learn more about who was behind the murders, how she finally figures it out will she live to stop what something or someone has put in place? What was the fate of her Guild? What about Ronan the man she fell for was he alive or dead? What happened to him and how does she react when she witnesses a death of someone she cares about? Will she continue to run? Will she have to hide? When you read the epilogue and relive the scene with her you will know that this is not over yet. Tough, tenacious, overpowering and never yielding you do not want to mess with NITE FIRE! Strong characters, a plot that will keep you riveted to the printed page until you reach the outstanding and surprise ending. More to come I am sure.
