Plus, we learn some dark secrets about who is behind this drug that will find a cure and help people get from screed. There is much more and the man who can push the pill through for Ovalar is in a coma and if he comes out of it will he take the steps that they demand. Someone comes to the Senator’s door and hands Liesel her first dose of Ovalar, and Kendrick admits having used it in the past as we learn his connection to Quintero and why he wants him to help Viceroy find his son.
There are many layers to this plot as we hear the voice of a man whose name is not revealed and the reasons why Ovalar is given to Lisel who is the Senator’s daughter and addicted to Screed as so many are and the fact that there might be an influx in Milwaukee, and they are going to prey on immigrants and the poor to see their reaction to the drug. Things get tense and more dangerous when Victory and Regina meet up with Peterson and Joaquin in Guatemala and learn that if Bertram is alive just where he might be but not before they are endangered, attempts are made on their lives, and we learn just how connected Amy Peterson is to the man who is providing Ovalar and why. The addiction rate is high to screed and the drug that needs to be taken to sustain their lives might cause more danger than good but that remains to be seen as we learn when we return to the Senator’s mansion that he is visiting Czerwinski now that he is out of the hospital and needs him to return to the Senate.
lives are at risk when the truth behind where Bertrum was being held and when they learn the truth they uncover the mystery of the Ghost behind it but that is not even the tip of the iceberg.
Lies plays a big part as she learns from photos that they figured out how to turn screed in an aerosol spray randomly testing it on the poor in Guatemala. This spraying would induce those that inhaled it to become instant addicts. This was told to her in front of someone close to her father explaining about the officials and their fates too. Clay Czerwinski was discharged from the hospital but an illusive killer took care of him before he could speak out or make his move to decide on the proposal.
