Hope Miller is the name she used when found fifteen years ago in a small New Jersey town. It appeared that she was thrown from an overturned car and had no idea who she was and lost her identity. Her doctors assumed that her memory loss was not permanent and but the effect of her injuries but as of late when we meet her she has no recall at all. She started a new life in a new place and became friends with Lindsey Kelly a defense lawyer and her new best friend who found her after the accident and understands why Hope was to start her life over. But, when her friend decides to move in her new East Hampton Home, far from all that she is comfortable with why she disappears without a trace but what is found where she was last seen was a drop of blood but who’s? the blood will lead back to a murder case of a notable murderer the notorious William Summer the Kansas Killer. With no where Lindsey reaches out to NYPD homicide detective, Ellie Hatcher, the daughter of the man who hunter this Kansas Killer and was killed. Ellie believed in her heart there was more to the death of her father twenty years earlier g and now she links Hope’s disappearance to this murder. Both Lindsey and Ellie must reach back and deep into their pasts and Lindsey uncovers information about a man named Alex Lopez that links to Hope and a body that is found was she the reason for his death?
Ellie and Lindsay team up to solve more than one person and dealing with the past will bring them front and center with a secret that Jess, Ellie’s brother wants to stay hidden. Janice Beale’s home was directly in Edgewater Park, and she moved into the neighborhood and Jess and Ellie were part of her group. Ellie had a vague memory about the camp that some went to and the fact that her older sister got a pervert vibe from one of the volunteers and her father investigated it. Hope Miller was there or was she? The COP part owe the condensed version of Community Oriented Police and it linked to Locke Industries and Alex Lopez made a call to their main number a few months ago but who wanted him silenced? His body was pulled from the water near Star Island at the end of Suffolk Country and Hope was linked to the murder. Going to the camp and talking to Mrs. Streeter stating that the employees were sanctioned volunteers, and a few were there bringing the donation to the drop off after. What was really going on in this camp? Email Lopez was raped, and things start to fit into place after more evidence come out, but Difficulties might arise with the Immigrant Community office if the truths behind what Alex did and more comes out. Then things get tense and Hope if found and Carter Decker is out to arrest her for the murder of Alex Lopez and other charges. Taking her case Lindsay is smart, will not allow her to be ramrodded and the name Richard Mullaney becomes known a noted Attorney and philanthropist in Detroit who was killed in the driveway of his home. Married to Melanie at an early age, successful at first but she seemed to soar, and his law practice diminished. Why did they think she was the one who paid someone to take him out? How were Alex Lopez and Richard Mullaney connected and what did this have to do with Ellie’s past and Hope? Added in reading Hope’s journals takes a back corner or back step to Lindsay understanding her true feelings for her and placing Scott in a hard position. Linking the murders of the William Summer, plus what happened toe Emilia Lopez at the cam and the fact that she had been victimized plus what about her brother and why did Alex leave town? He had a mentor at the camp and told him everything and he could not promise that he would not have a problem with immigration. Things get even more out of place and then he was killed that the mentor was important, and Alex did not want to come up against him. The name went by the name Hitch just how was he linked and who was he really?
As the case unfolds you wonder if Hope was faking her memory loss and she was supposed to prep for the open house but never showed up. Why was she in a stolen car? Detective Carter Decker became involved and buy Ellie questioned whether Hope knew anyone on Long Island. Lindsay related that Hope sent a text to Evan from the house where the staging took place . This got Ellie’s attention. William Summer the Kansas murderer targeted women who lived alive as the sole adult in their household and he called the victims his project. Lindsay even tried to get Hope a state ID, but she refused thinking someone might find her. Driving a stolen car, no wallet and only a hefty bag filled with clothes in the trunk. Plus, the blood sample and whose was it? What happened to Hope before her car accident? Why was she nervous and why did Lindsay’s dad teach her to shoot?
How does Ellie get involved? Digging into the past Ellie realizes the connection to the Kansas murderer and her father. Lindsay finds herself entangled in several different situations as she uncovers the truth about Hope’s past, who she’ really is and her connection to Alex , Richard and Jess. Author Alafair Burke takes Lindsay and Ellie and several journeys and detours into their pasts, how they intersect as Hope had to face the truths, realities and a shocking revelation about Alex, her role in what she believed making her guilty and an ending you won’t believe. Some endings are final and other beginnings as Lindsay and Hope both must choose their own directions along with Ellie , Jess and the truth about their father’s death. Where will life take them all as the lies, deceptions and betrayals plus truths are revealed? Find Me has multiple meanings as all three Lindsay, Ellie and Hope all need to process these two words and in the end have they been able to dig down within their minds and been able to do what this plot line states Find who they are inside : Find Me!
