Bad Love Tigers

The year is 1975 and the Gang is all together along with their new members celebrating the new year. Although no one knows who or where they are, some vicious Russians attack them. At the stroke, of midnight they were attacked by a Russian Federal Security Service agent whose goal was to steal secrets about their White Hole Project. Faced with a dilemma the gang goes back in time to meet with FDR for his advice and direction. The President signed a document stating that the gang would be responsible for protecting the White Hole project and America’s top-secret Area 51.

The author shares the history behind Area 51, the advent of the atomic bomb, how the United States was first, and the impact on other countries in the world if they follow suit. The directives were sent to two people, signed and sealed, another to Truman in case something happens to him.

Dealing with the Chinese, Russians, and Indian espionage forces creates many obstacles in their way.

Traveling this Tennessee, they were being followed by Russians and Chinese both sides ignored the other. June 1942 is where it ends in WWII, China when FDR mandate the Bad Love Gang its f to volunteer to the famous AVG flying tigers under General Claire Chennault. They vow to protect the secrets of area 51.

Area 51, secret US military installation located at Groom Lake in Southern Nevada. The history is discussed but the interactions between Bucky and the two men who FDR called before he died to help them in their mission to secret the White Hole Project and Area 51 keeps you reading more and the history of how they created the tunnel for time travel and how the first atomic reactor came about helps readers understand the importance of what they are hoping to accomplish. The history of the City of Fountains is fascinating. They are warned to be careful after their encounter with the Russians knowing that the Chinese are not far behind. Imagine wanting to train on flying the P-40 planes and hopefully time travel to China to complete their mission. Vannevar is one man entrusted by FDR to help them and tells them as you will read on page 103 what they need to do. The other is Colonel Clarke who relates his final call and instructions from FDR. BB and Bucky’s experiences on the P-40 and dealing with the Japanese is heart-stopping tension-filled and exciting. Their contact was Claire Chennault who spoke to Roosevelt before he died and excepted the envelope with his seal from BB and Bucky. The conversation with General Claire Chennault who commands the Flying Tigers in China adds to the story. FDR tells them that they will have all the resources needed to accomplish their goals.

The hotels in the past and how the author intertwined real events and the history behind them allows readers to feel as if they time traveled with the gang. The history of the Roadhouse that opens in 1872 and Coca-Cola introduced to the city of Chattanooga at the Roadhouse drug store in 1926 plus how the hotel was torn down and rebuilt is interesting.Enter the Clinton lab and meet Martin D. Whitaker. It would be exciting to watch how they would blow the tunnel connecting K-25 to the White Hole Project and seal it off securing until it was discovered in 1974. The author shares more about Whitaker and his history. Chapter 12 brings more of the gang back in time and in chapter 14 we meet Gerald Ford. Shots at Stagg in chapter 15.

Author Dr. Schewe created a compelling story expertly crafted including a huge amount of history and knowledge of American life during the Second World War and in the early 1970s. The fun part he includes for young people and even older is the mix of classic 70’s rock songs as an example of a soundtrack for this novel and the timeline in the present.

Spies, assassins, first-hand look inside Area 51 and the secrets about it and the Manhattan Project add to the suspense.

Learned about the atomic age which began at 3:25 P.M. on December 2, 1942, and how the gang takes down spies and then goes to Chicago. Aliens and Area 51 and being zapped back to their planet from their spaceship the night it crashed in Area51. Chapter 16 is an eye-opener. The Mizzou Tigers and the City of Fountains is the highlight of this chapter and Mile High City in chapter 21 reminds readers of the ambush and what happens to Peggy Sue who travels with the gang and took a bullet to the chest in a battle with a Russian spy cell. Clarke promises to make sure this navy wave survives. Then Broadmoor bound for fighter pilot training and joining the Peterson Panda Bears welcome back to 1975 but not for long as President Ford having met them in the past has one more mission for them to stop a Russian spy cell sending them back to 1942. It a heart-stopping. action-filled ending with landings that were not typical and the encounter with the alien ship and Japanese ground forces. To learn the outcome, you need to join the battles in chapters 26 and 27. Read the Epilogue for a heartfelt ending to a powerful story.

The adventure might end but there’s much more to come as I’m sure the author will pen more adventures for this remarkable gang.
