Hoping for some quality time with his wife, Matt Drake received a message that changed it all. Having no choice but to call his boss, he’s forced into a situation that no one else can handle. A walk-in arrives and requested him by his real name snd chin this moment on lives are at stake, bodies might fall but not before the unexpected happens to turn the tables on Matt in many directions. 

Matt finds himself in Austria and learns Burke a one-time member of the real IRA Nolan Burke needs his help. The walk-in at the US embassy in Vienna says he has vital information about a Russian intelligence operation and asks for Matt by his real name. He calls himself the Irishman which sends up red flags and Matt is the DIA first-class officer sent on a one-way flight to learn more. Sent yo debrief Nolan Burke, before the hellos are even completed the Irishman is kidnapped by two Russian direct action teams and Matt receives some brutal injuries. When finally out of danger and with his boss the situation becomes tense, he’s determined to find Nolan but that mission was a camouflage for something even direr. Matt can’t seem to find safety as he hopes to find Nolan, hops in an Uber and author Don Bentley creates a scene right out of NCIS or Mission Impossible. The tension level rises higher than 10 and once again the Russians are after him as the Uber driver turns down his offer for money and much more leaving Matt once again at the mercy of these two officers but not for long. 

Things take a dramatic turn when Benny Cohen the director of operations for Mossad comes into play and favor that will cause him to partner with arrogant and hardcore Ella to return a favor for saving his wife’s life. But the Russians are not done and the author brings us inside the war and the Russian’s part in Ukraine. There is a recap of what went down when Matt killed 5 Russians but one got away. Pyotr Sokolovand Sergei Kuznetsov was talking about how Sergei answered a knock on the door only to be knocked unconscious. The five dead were assassin specialists on loan from the Directorate V of Russia’s Federal Intelligence Service. Tensions heat up and sides are drawn as the author elaborates on the possibility of a Russian invasion of the Ukraine and 

Andrey Chita understands the cold realities of the soldiers and wants to enlist the help of Olek a farmer who survived the massacre in Ilovalisk and who was respected by the Ukrainian Government and revered by the people. Andriy proceeds to explain what he feels this farmer and his men can obtain to help get the nuclear weapon and Danilo claims he found it and Andriy needs these Patriots to get it. Moving back to Pyotr we remember what he did to Sergei and now he has another asset, Myaso and the conversation turns in different directions as he tells this man that I killed were victims, not perpetrators but will he believe him? Answers are not forthcoming as He would like and the Russian has his method of handling things and it’s wondered why and how Matt got away when he was seen. Plus dealing with Ella was not easy as her personality is obstructive and self-centered as they enter the center to find the scientist that Matt was told to get. At the center, they find a way to get inside even without the proper identification. Lies and deceptions are the key and now how to get the scientist away from his minders. 

But not everyone is who they seem and having to take action changes Matt’s direction thinking a young scientist was Nolan’s daughter but it was not. A message from someone claiming to be Nolan’s son sends right to his boss and Frodo with something that could take down more than Vienna snd Ukraine but the whole world. Is there a Russian nuke lost in Ukraine? How was this going to be handled and who was this Russian in reality? Back in Austria the author has other plans for Pyotr who wants the weapon from Ukraine but Andriy has the person most likely to deliver it but he prefers the worst. Next, we learn about Ukraine wanting to be a full-fledged member of NATO and article V. Just what amendment or change to the Constitution was in question? The author’s account of what the Russians planned to do and invade Ukraine how close to the reality they are facing now is it? An arms dealer has gotten himself a tackle nuke and what is the plan for Matt and Frodo moving forward?

With a team of Seals who proved invaluable and Frodo will Matt get the weapon before the Russians or Ukraine’s?

Added in the paratroopers that are Russian, the horrors watching as teens were gunned down and Kramstorsk’s resident warlord /arms dealer had a great plan he thought to safeguard his warehouse. Choosing to run his criminal enterprise from a military base was a stroke of genius on Tarka’s part. But Matt was hoping he and Ella with his team win the battle and not have to use a transmit button while meeting with Tarka. From chapter 46 to the final takedowns author Don Bentley takes us deep inside many battles and we see how each side fares. Pyotr thought he had it down but there were many deaths. Matt and his team in Ukraine would work to take down the target but Andriy had his agenda and three battles and causalities on all sides and Matt is faced with a life-altering decision. Experience the fear, the bullets flying, the RPG’s and the expertise of the seals as Axle, Elvis, Red, and the rest fight hoping to neutralize the weapon but two are seriously injured will he save them or not? The word Go would haunt Matt at the ending is powerful and the final revelations shocking as the author brings to our front door the war between the Russians and Ukraine and a young Russian paratrooper will experience a real battle plus revenge is sought by a Russian and Matt races the fragile minutes to save 2 lives as you the reader will feel your heart beating fast, your pulse raising until the final gunshot of Hostile Intent is fired. Characters right out of political war and battle as once again Matt Drake proves that he can outfox, outmaneuver, and hopefully out win the enemy as the last page has a shocking surprise.
