Shadow House

When your past defines your present and the new world called New Earth defines you, can you deal with being prejudged, accused of a crime you did not commit because you were tossed from foster home to foster home and made into.sn outcast. Johari Hightower just wanted to enjoy what is referring ad a craze. But in this new world defiant behaviors, not following the rules according to those who created them can send you to a desolate and frightening life if you are forced to enter Shadow House. But survival comes with tortures, penalties, and more. The New Earth Supreme Council decided that Johari should be eliminated. What exactly was his crime? A criminal record from the past, a job with a supervisor who has it in for him. and a must wanting to. spend time with Greta the girl of his dreams you might day. But there is one obstacle: Brice who wants her too and who was in the craze and sent his close friend to give Johari the keys to his expensive car Spider for the night. A setup that he did not see coming and a result of being convicted of stealing the car what is his fate? Greta his lawyer says his only hope, but he won’t involve her. Dannie is a young girl who cares for him and just wants to help.

Greta is beautiful and most girls resent and hate her for her intelligence and appearance. Falling for one person is out of the question but why does Johari intrigue her? Brice Bernhard pretends friendship and sets him up for the big fall. Is Greta what he wants too it just a prize to show off because he’s rich and can win?

Dannie is precious would he turn to her? The craze is a blowout party, and the House could be their doom. .

The courtroom scene is frightening and the prosecutor questions his witnesses siding with Brice. The defense lawyer is good and prepared, but Brice and his friends lie. The visual recounting of Johari’s childhood and past paint a tainted and well-orchestrated and contrived picture that was false and misleading. When the verdict comes down there is no way to avoid getting placed in a cell, but things get wild when Johari decides to fight back, Dannie comes to his rescue, and he hides in plain sight in a library searching for answers in documents that he had hidden long ago. Children are treated as soldiers and slaves; education does not seem to exist in the true sense of the word, and no one ever took the time to check on him in the foster homes and ask him why he was so violent and how he was treated. Foster care is something the social workers need to follow up on and after teaching and working with children in that type of care, I became an advocate for each one making sure they were safe. Unfortunately, in the world created by the author that does not exist.

In this world created by author AR Silverberry, there are rules that are made by an elite group, everyone at a certain age must enter the House, each state or city at one point had a House but what happened to them and why? Brice, Greta, Johari and Calista enter the house as a unit, hoping to find a way out but what they do find are mazes, windows that are locked, steps that turn into mirrors, and places that seem safe but are they? Pairing up two and two what will they find and what are the trials they will have to endure? Will anyone get out?

Wherever they go they find odd things happening including when Johari tries to knock out a window you won’t believe the reaction they all have.

Calista revisits her past, but someone comes for her in the present and the result is horrifying and then Brice who finds himself surrounded by girls, wanting Greta and then must confess to her what he did to Johari will someone come for him too? As final scenes are terrifying author A.R. Silverberry allows each reader to look deep inside themselves to see if you too created someone’s misery in the past, if you too experienced what these four did before entering the house, do you deserve to live? An ending that is terrifying for all four as lives come to an unusual end, spirits, holograms, violence and the unusual happens as you the reader enter each room, watch things, rooms, people and stairs and more disappear as you enter the final tests of each one of the four and you decide who survives: SHADOW HOUSE! Characters that are individual, events that are all connected and spirits, ghostly bodies, people from the past and an unknown future for all. When it all comes down to it: WAIT UNTIL IT’s YOUR TURN: WILL YOU ENTER SHADOW HOUSE?
