A raging, violent storm takes hold of a community without mercy. Irish solicitor, Benedicta O’Keefe has returned to her home in time to help her boyfriend, Tom Molly to handle an incident, turned murder investigation.
The core of the mystery is founded on an odd murder that is compounded by a raging storm cutting off roads, and access to the town and keeping visitors in some cases stranded and in need of somewhere to stay.
Money is also at the basis of this novel as it is to be raised through a race where the proceeds go to assisted living facilities g managed by Bob Jameson our murder victim. The cyclists and the victim are trapped and the race is postponed because of the storm. As a result of the storm, his body is found when the storm dislocates or dislodges it from its peg on an unlikely hillside causing it to roll on top of a hood on the car of the town Vet. Fear and panic and because of the limited resources and closed or damaged roads, police sergeant Tom Molly, has to work to uncover the business and personal relationships that tie tge residents if this town, Glendaracto Bob’s Family.
Different perspectives about Bob are presented as he might not be just who and what they thought.
Added several other plots as Lissa Bennett fears for her life revealing to Ben the abuses she incurred at her husband’s hand and then taking a drug or did she?
Amanda, Bob’s wife send off and his brother according to Ananda us responsible for the financial problems of the charity.
A charity Bob set up and milked the money plus the care center’s staff took poor care of the residents and they were locked in financially and could not afford to leave.
There are many that Bob controlled and one blinded by love for 35 years plus a child kept hidden and his wife’s startling revelations. Lies, manipulation, deceptions, money that was hidden, and payouts he wanted plus accounts licked at the end. Two brothers that for appearances looked like they bonded but when you dig into Bob’s actions, the money that never went to the charities or care centers, and the pranks that turned deadly, you won’t believe the harsh realities and truths.
How does Molloy deal with the truth about his death and the snake? Who caused him to get bitten? Who knew who liked Bob? An ending you won’t expect as Ben leads us to unravel the reasons for Jude’s hate for Bob, what he did to Marina and her family, and in the end what about his wife, and will Mary face the fact that her love for him was his way if using her and the harsh ending she’d have to face.
When you hear the voice of one person you the reader must decide guilty or not. There’s more as you will hear as we learn that Bob was being investigated and ordinary people paying for his actions plus
Jude spills some harsh truths about why he took the fall for what Bob did and finally, who would pay for his death? Lives will never be the same and some friendships frayed. But the finale pages let ya know that Ben and Molloy are setting out together as a result of a disturbing call. Once again the author takes us deep inside the rainstorm, lets you feel the wind, endure the blocked roads and visit this town in Ireland and try and solve the answer to The Body Falls but why?
