Code 6

Technology has advanced in many directions, but the technology of the past comes into play within this multi-plot novel. Secrets and lies are hidden between the lines as a major company, Buck Technologies comes under fire when the CEO, Christian Gamble is charged with the abuse of his wife, and under investigation for his company where pirate date integration which included the CIA and virtually every counter terrorism organization in the Western World.

Kate’s father, the CEO of Buck Technologies, is on everyone’s radar. He is in Chicago to finalize the question of a much smaller competitor in the data integration industry. It is a vital and important strategic transaction. Things are about to heat up when her mother drinks too much takes leap off the balcony of her apartment leaving her husband and daughter wondering why.

Kate’s goal is to write a play based on the US Census Bureau to collect ever more information about its citizens. Through Kate the author explains the inception of the census, and how it stated in Germany and how Hitler wanted the names and address of every man, woman, and child in greater Germany with a Jewish grandparents. Her play was about this area but the man who wanted to produce the play wanted her to write about the world’s first personal informational  catastrophe, the abuse of technology and the systematic identification of Jews for extermination.

Things get more complicated when her father is questioned by Detective Anderson about his late wife’s allegations of abuse, what exactly is his company doing, what technologies are in question and the fact that David Walter and BJB funding, funds his corporation. Added in his own partner is blindsiding him and wants to ease him out and take out his position plus his as CFO.

What was behind the technology called Project Naivete which is at the heart of the novel. Her father as CEO was left in the dark about a lot and his wife, before she died was compromised and was used to get information to someone in Bucks. Patrick was kidnapped and it was someone high up in the company that hired Javier, as we learn and see him at work torturing him and a young girl named Olga plus who paid him to send him to Central America and this survival camp in order to get him out of the country until the DOJ’s audit was done but someone was paid to eliminate Patrick all together. Then there is Sandra Levy the link to what the kidnappers wanted: CODE 6. Just what does it do you won’t believe. Imagine a a stealth scraping tool, the key code that the CFO withheld from the Chinese who he was working with, could read, steal, data from every imaginable source without detection by Google, Facebook or other platform that collected the data in the first place and take all that and disconnect into a single every evolving personal dossier for every American who did not live under a rock. You won’t’ believe what Jeremy Peel showed and how easily hat top secret technology  that might fall into the wrong hands and be sued against our country. Kate’s play when on state helped to bring this all to light and even more about what Hitler had created in the past.

Taking it back a few steps Kate reveals and reminds Sean who is the director working on getting her play out there along with the producer, she states her play started in 1890, and the first time the US Census Bureau used technology to process census data. The purpose of the data was to determine who was a citizen, and who has Jewish grandparents which is what her play was about. But Noah’s voice is that of the person heading the audit, which comes through as a quote that stands out written by Justice Roberts and reverting to whether the Commerce Department stated a valid reason when it ordered the census bureau to include the citizenship question in the census questionnaire. The heart of the technology is what is project Naivete.

Throughout the novel, Patrick fights to stay alive, struggles with different kidnappers and dangerous situations trying reason with the reasonable.

Late is forced by Noah to be more than a go-between herself and her father and made to visit Sandra Levy in prison to uncover what she might have stolen and what she learns is shocking not just from her but Noah. Then learning Patrick was in danger and kidnapped why would they not pay the ransom? Deception, lies, and betrayals and who can she trust? What about her father and how deep was her mother into this?

As the pieces, all fit together and Kate is in Colombia trying to get Patrick home, the kidnappers have her in check as they take aim at more than one person.

A revelation about her mother, secrets uncovered and a daring sequence of dangerous events to hopefully bring Patrick home.

The truth about Peel, the reason for Project Naivete, and an ending that is explosive, heartbreaking in some respects, and enlightening in others.

Code 6 what is it and who will get the final control of it? The author creates an ending leaving readers wondering about the fate of Buck Technologies, Christian  Gamble, Kate, Noah, and more. Strong characters, vulnerable and at times opinionated and yet compassionate. Code 6 what’s next?
