But anyone knowing him knows he would never take the money directly but have one of his cutouts grab it. She claimed he kidnapped her son, Sonny and her mother disavowed her on the spot. Her story was too pat, and things get really intricate and dangerous for Bruno and his best friend Karl Drago who turns up the heat along with Waldo, his dog you don’t want to mess with. Layla claimed the child was hers and that Bruno would have to help her get him back but not everyone and everything is what they seem to be. Lives are lost, danger is in the air, and he leaves his family to go back to the states only to be followed there by his father and his mother who is anything but on the up and up taking his father for his savings and conning him into letter her play the tables and more. Forced to go to Los Angeles and met his old friend Karl Drago and Waldo, he enters a world that is filled with corruption, gambling, hits, debts and his mother playing the tables with his father’s hard-earned savings. But this is just the tip of the iceberg as Layla convinces Bruno that her child named Sonny was kidnapped by Johnny claiming he’s the father.It gets more complicated as the author introduces Johnny and his cutouts and their roles in a scam that will take him inside the world of baby selling and much more.Karl seems to have a thing for Layla and thinks that she might be the one for him but beware. Her story is convincing, and his dad comes to the states and shows up in a limo and the two have a heart to heart but the end result might surprise readers when you learn more about his past and why he is so loyal to Bea.What is her real story and why does Bruno want nothing to do with her? It takes an unusual turn when you least expect it. A phone call to his friend Helen in law enforcement changes the dynamic and things move in a dangerous fashion and a call from his father opens his eyes in a different direction about his mother but there is much more. Aimee Langhari is supposed to be Layla’s friend but just where does she fit into CCS and Johnny? Celtic Cross Syndicate is at the heart of what happened to missing children and just who benefits from the sales? Where is Sonny and what happens when Bruno learns his identity and the secret behind what Layla has done and why? Is she dangerous? Does she have mental issues? What exactly is her connection to this child? Who is this child really? There are many who the author introduces connected with Johnny but his amin guy seems apt to wanting a payoff if he helps with information. Will he help find the real Sonny? When Bruno comes down on Layla you won’t believe the lies, betrayals and stories she told and the fact that she even justifies her actions. Will she pay for what she did? What about the money she used to get what she wanted? Just what did Johnny do to her? Then a heartfelt moment or more between Bea and Bruno and just why is father was by her side. She owes more than a half a million dollars and the plan will bring a smile to your face and Bea you must love her. She’s original to say the least. The ending will shock readers and the outcome of three children and maybe one more will surprise you. But, if you know Bruno you might say: I KNEW HE WILL COME THROUGH! What about his new son Tobias and what will Marie do with more? A story that takes you right into the heart of baby broking, gambling issues and one man named Bruno that must come to terms with himself, his parents and just being Bruno. Once again author David Putnam brings issues to light like trust, parental love, deception, longing, children’s safety and identity. Scorn describes a feeling of contempt for something or someone. Rage means anger or violent passion. An attitude or feeling or expression of contempt or looking down on someone.
