Dean Wister is a strong character with morals, values and is persistent in wanting to find out what is behind the doors of Boris’s house and what is really going on. Human trafficking, prostitution, betrayals, loyalties, hope for a new life, and will Dean finally come to terms with losing Sara and move on?
Dean finds himself facing the dog abuser and what he does is perfect and priceless and he has a new pet named Cheney as his own. The investigation takes him deep inside the mob interviewing Boris Birvok and wanting to learn more about Mario Rosati and his operations. But, of course he gets stonewalled every step of the way and even his veiled threats do not break this man’s loyalties to this mobster.
While this is happening the election and the press releases including interviews take the spotlight and McGraw seems to be growing in popularity in some areas and not in others. Things take an unusual turn when learning more about McGraw and his friend Charlie who is the Chairman and CEO of Prairie Bankcorp and his avid fund raiser and much more. Linked to each other and both being blackmailed by Rosati when asked to hire Mario Jr, Charlie is caught between a rock and a hard place and cannot refuse this mobster. But, there is much more when we learn the true fate of the young girls whose parents thought they were here to get an education but in reality were sold into prostitution and human trafficking and much more.
Daryl Fay is no good and his girlfriend Amber is dense being used as a whore to get money to fund a business he claims they will run when they have enough. Daryl is linked to Mario and Boris and when caught and questioned by Dean, the lie detector test he takes proves he’s a liar. So, will the let it go because he took it voluntarily or will he turn and tell it all to the police? Added in Tatiana escapes and finds her way to Dean who uses his influence to get her to a save house but Boris and Mario have eyes all over.
Daryl is placed in many situations that he has no choice to endure and when Boris sends him to a room with one girl he has no choice but to comply with what is expected. Speaking with the Sheriff and explaining the situation about the girls who might be illegally here why does he tell him to deal with the death of Jordy Smith and back off of this case?
Mario Sr. has his own network of bank accounts and corporations at one of the largest international banks in Chicago, the one owned by Charles Kidwell and until he and McGraw as they say fell into his lap and the information he learned about both of them came to him well pictures or videos speak for themselves. Mario Jr. is smart but a loaded cannon like his father and when Senior tells Charlie to hire him in an executive position he has not choice. But, just how long with it last and what will his job be?
When Dean approaches Charlie and lets him know that he is aware of something he has been hiding and that Charlotte the woman the Senator is seeing behind closed doors is not his sister, what is revealed will shock readers and voters if the true be told.
Favors, bribes, drugs, human trafficking and a man named Robbie Benz that was not only the Mayor of Alpine but he owned The Grandest Tetons frequented by the rich and was the largest contributor of any municipal business to the property and sales of revenue. The girls working for him were nothing more than horses in a stable, they being the stable. Amber was about to become victim to something so horrendous and awful when this man requests her presence and more.
Dean is still fighting with his emotions regarding the death of Sara and when having to finally face where he belongs and if he can go back to his old roots and job in Chicago the scene that the author created is heartbreaking and Dean has to make a choice of Chicago of Jackson Hole. But, things spiral out of control and he causes a death when attacked and the video shows he might be innocent so why does Dan Cody throw him off of the case?
Hayden Smith is sleeping the another man’s soon to be ex-wife. Eliza is his whole life and when Cody feels he is responsible for the death of Jordy, Dean comes to him to try and prove Hayden is innocent. The chief of police, the FBI and many agencies will come into play before the truth behind the murder and who Torino was and why he was sent to kill someone but who? A powerful story of a man with conflicting views about where his life is going, how he when his wife does not appear in his nightly dreams and the end result of who killed Jordy, was he the intended victim and the explosive ending will shock readers.
