The Cage

 The Cage

Two women working late in a fashion conglomerate company enter the elevator on the 30 th  floor. The doors close and it descends how does one wind up dead when the doors open? Waiting at the police station for hours the survivor has to think of what to say. Who was Lucy Gutman and how does her husband react?

We hear the thoughts and voice of the survivor in a room marked interview A . The stark and cold environment can cause fear and remember you are being watched. Reflecting on someone named Mrs. Casco who was she at this moment and who does she want to be? Interrogation and questions answered as she is the only witness to what happened but will they believe her?

Asking for coffee hoping to be released why does she decide to remain and the end result arrested. Describes her relationship with David and the company. Is Shay guilty or was she framed? The 911 call and the fact Lucy was still alive and yet the police think she did it.

The past is flashing back as uhow she got her job, those involved and then forward to the Preston and she can leave for how long? But she decides to stay hoping it would show she was arFcooperating but and s harsh truth that the other person in the elevator was told to fire we leaves her with speculation on their part and the theory that Lucy fired her at 8:30 and the next half hour planning her murder.

Fraud, medical documents and drugs. What exactly was CDMI into? Deep in the jungle of Myanmar they had turned to drug trafficking. The lab and Lester upped the security. They were exploiting child labor. What did Lucy mean by I can’t do this anymore!

An elaborate scheme created by those she worked for and she’s arrested and serving time. Lies, betrayals and deceptions and what really happened to Lucy and just how did Barrett frame Shay? Befriended another prisoner and giving legal advice but who would help her and what part did her husband David play?

Lives at stake as we relive the trial and the final scenes.

As the trial progresses things come to light as Detective Riley realizes that Shay might have been framed. Jail time then freed will she be safe. Ivins realizes she’s an asset and hires her as an associate. But the chemistry between them will it get in the way? Shay is out for revenge and you won’t believe how she goes about it. Courtroom scenes that are diverse, different and the unexpected happens as charges are dropped others are filed as Barrett’s security team might go down. Added in Shay uncovered the reason why Lucy texted : I can’t do thud anymore and how it lead to in covering the truth behind what happened to Lucy and her role in placing young women in terrible jobs and conditions. Caged hold animals taking away their freedom to roam and bondage to humans and you won’t believe how. An ending that will shock readers as the author creates twists, surprises and pure manipulation on someone’s part as you the reader will witness the final confrontations . Learning that in most cases when someone is fired they take their keycard, a guard escorts then out and on her resume it said she clerked for Judge Wendell Arnold but she never did. Lucy was going to take care of firing her. Shay was great at creating images and creating a performance and an image as her teacher Mrs. Casco had taught: videoed shone and truths and lies uncovered.

Signed a non disclosure document and blindsided Shay outfoxes herself when she thinks she’s so smart until the ax falls and her life is one small cage. Even her public defender lawyer had no idea how to create the documents to prove her case and finally proving it in court. Can you pay someone and shower them with luxuries to see it they’re way? A detective that might change sides. Corporate leaders that are corrupt and the hidden truth about CDMI. Remember her teacher’s advice: wear the face you want the world to see, and that’s who you’ll be!

Meet Peou and follow her journey and others into a deep and dark world that they were engulfed in thinking they were getting jobs to help their families back home. Truths and lies. Perception is her goal as Shay Lambert creates a veil if her own to take down anyone that gets in her way. Tough, bold , unafraid and persistent author Bonnie Kistler takes us deep inside the corporate world and just who’s cage opens and who’s is about to close forever.
